About the Project
So I picked up the Joan of Arc dragon with the kickstarter and never actually got around to painting it. Now is that time.....

Preparation
Seen as the Dragon is pretty much built the only real preparation I needed to do was to base and fill in a few gaps.
Basing was simple, I just used some find sand and a few small (teeny) pieces of slate I had left over from some previous projects.
Filling the gaps was also a simple process with getting some green stuff in there so the parts of the dragon blended together.
Basecoating
Bascoating was done with the Games Workshop spray, Wraithbone.
At this point I still wasn’t sure how I was going to paint it up but I wanted the option of contrast paints.
Painting the Dragon
I really didn’t know what direction I wanted to go with colours or anything really. I was having a look through some of my older minis and came across some Lizardmen (Seraphon) I painting a few years ago. The bigger ones were painted mainly black with a red stripe down their backs. I then did their undersides with zandi dust (if I remember correctly).
So I decided to try to replicate this paint scheme, on a much bigger scale, using mainly contrast paints.

Golden Button
Golden Button Award, I know this isn’t technically anything to do with my painting the model but I wanted to add this button to this so I can look back fondly!!
Such an honour, I was so pleased I made my wife watch last weeks XLBS just to hear it mentioned. I really do these videos and projects to keep me painting, and to help others new to the hobby of course. It’s nice to hear that they’re appreciated.
