Evening all. I’m extremely indecisive when it comes to the miyriad of miniatures, games and options these days. I have two fan-bloody-tastic long term projects I want to work on, both of which I am equally excited about starting. I have time and money for only one currently. You decide and help me free up the brain power I’m using on a daily basis thinking about it.

Option 1) Awesome dungeon crawler collection: I have Heroquest, Advanced Heroquest, Dark World, Mighty Heroes and many more. I’d love to continue building a mighty collection and maybe use Warhammer quest rules for an epic dungeon experience. Pros: model variety and I can maybe get my daughter interested in RPGs etc.

Option 2) An extremely epic medieval human army to use for any number of fantasy games. I already have Song of ice and fire minis and would like to buy into Conquest Hundred Kingdoms, as well as look at some Bretonnian options on ebay. There are also loads of lovely sculpts like Scibor and Mierce.  Pros: An awesome collection. It would be amazing to have a jaw dropping massive collection and I really like medieval warfare.

Which would you go with? Whatever gets the most “votes”, I will work on and start a project log to boot!! I’ll go with which ever has the most votes Monday Evening…..

Thank you in advance for helping with my with decision paralysis. It genuinely stresses me out ?

    1) Dungeon crawler all the way, self-contained so you’re not reliant on anyone else and a broad type of miniatures to collect and paint.

Thanks for taking the time to reply @avernos. The self contained or even solo aspect was not something I had considered. Strong plus!

I’m with Avernos, I would lean into the Dungeon Crawl collection.  It is self contained as a system/collection, you could start playing with it after only completing part, and there would be so much more variety in what you get to paint.  Sure there would be monsters and terrain, but some of the adventurers would feed that hunger for painting humans and might even be a great place to try out some of the color schemes you will use when you get to the Fantasy Human collection.  Big bonus if you can involve your kid!  Can’t wait to see what you choose and follow along with your progress!

Going for Dungeon Crawlers will probably also result in having some nice characterful miniatures that could easily be used for games like Frostgrave or other small scale skirmish games.

Despite what you could do with the fantasy army and my own desire to see what you could pull together for public play I’ll toss my lot in with the self contained dungeoncrawl. The ‘Rona is fickle and she’s not given up yet on humanity. I second the reasoning from @144artist

At first i went with the Medieval army, but now after reading the other comments i agree with them, the self contained dungeon crawl project which would give you an option to solo game  to play after all your work, plus the added bonus of possibly including your daughter to help them play .

I know it’s still early doors but I get the feeling it’s going to be a landslide for the dungeon crawler project!

    Appreciate it @ironshield @horati0nosebl0wer @scribbs @144artist @avernos. Good points made.

Got a reasonable sized human army myself and only use it every now and then so I would vote for the option 1

more variety and options for play and quicker to set up either solo or groups.

Yeah, going to go with the group here too – dungeon crawl, easy to complete and can be played different ways. Excellent current times project
