A new gaming venue is opening in Walsall in one of the new retail units in the old market Walsall.

It will ne called New Asgard, it will have a bar, food  a games outlet  and huge tables to play games on.

The friendly Proprietor Vince, showed me round again today .

That’s one BIG venue (I dread to think what the business rates are going to be town centre), I hope all goes well. It’s this kind of thing we need to rejuvenate the town centres now that all the high street shops are closing down. Alas most councils keep thinking we’re in the 80’s and are charging silly business rates (and rental) and seem more than happy to see units empty rather than open and flourishing 🙁

Looks interesting, and hope it will be able to appeal to a different audience then the other existing games store in Walsall, ‘Board in Brum’, which has a good range of board games and wargaming resources.

You can find out out more at http://www.boardinbrum.co.uk

Think this one is actually the relocation of Asgard Games (also of Walsall), so there’s no “new” store in town. The old Asgard Store was quite small, so this is definitely a big step up in square footage for Vince 🙂
