Does anyone have any recommendations for a painting station that can easily be moved around the house? Sizewise it should handle half a dozen models and the paints, brushes etc needed for them. Ideally not too expensive as I’d like to get 2 or 3 of them to have different projects on the go at the same time.

Sarissa have just released this one – https://sarissa-precision.com/collections/paint-racks/products/a4-hobby-station-system

TT Combat do this one – https://ttcombat.com/collections/painting/products/paint-station

And I am sure other MDF companies do them as well.

You can build them on the cheap yourself if you’re up to it. I did it and made a project about it:

Luke has a video for an inexpensive hack. Tray tables, essential oils case, cutting mat… : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EkBqAJ-h_U

I made this out of a hobbyzone paint station blue tacked  to a tea tray with a cushion on the bottom (super high tech I know).

It has lasted for the best part of a decade now, and is highly used – it is light enough to carry around as needed and will balance on your knee/table without a problem. As you maybe able to see it can hold a fair few paints, around a squad of minis, plus brushes and water pot etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. The home-made ones do look impressive and well used. The Sarissa is the closest to what I had in mind.
Exploring the Luke video’s I did come across this https://frontierwargaming.com/product/paint-case/ which did look very nice though slightly pricy in comparison

And there is also this (rather old) Kickstarter. The guy is from a town close to me and I know he’s delivered on the KS and has a shop where you can buy several other MDF things hobby related.

Maybe look there too and message that guy?
