Sad news indeed, it’s a shame that he was largely forgotten compared to his contemporaries and also that his life took a decidedly downwards slant when he returned home.

Very sad. Dark Future was my first GW game and the sheer anarchy of it holds a special place in my heart to this day. As a young person, Richard was like a rock star and I remember being so excited meeting him at a Games Day.

A real loss to gaming, but thank you Richard for the open door.

Sadly I had to look that name up since it meant nothing to me. Goes to show how names get lost once people stop saying them :S

Oh man. I read the few things I found on the internet after hearing how his life had taken a turn (I think from Gerry, certainly on these pages). It was sad then and sad now.

Love to his friends and family and to all fellow explorers of the infinite.

A sad loss indeed. Space Hulk is still a great game and Dark Future has many happy memories for me.

Sad news. His name was one of the first names I got to know back in my very early entries into the hobby, in the times of 3rd edition Warhammer and particularly for me Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and it’s supplements.

Dark Future … now there’s a game I remember hearing about.
The before time when GW didn’t have any shops outside of the UK (or at least very very few).

I wish the new GW would learn a thing or two from its early self.

Jeez, I loved Dark Future, I think it was only last week I posted something about it hoping for a revival during Warhammer Fest week, reading about how RH’s life turned out I am not sure I want GW to profit from a new Dark Future now!

The original Space Hulk was also an absolutely brilliant game, I suspect that would still hold up now.

    Sad news.

GW actually gave him a shout out on the last Warhammer Fest live stream – which was nice.
