Warren, surely your uniform should be of a Soviet Marshal like Ivan Konev’s, as you’re planning to play Soviets or do I have that wrong?

He does plan to play as Russians – he just really, really, really likes tassels…

Herr Goring springs to mind. He liked art too.

You’ve called it perfectly!
As soon as Warren started talking about wearing a uniform, oul Uncle Herman sprang straight to mind.
Not only does he have the similar physique, but also the similar mental attitude and charisma!

Justin, there was the “5th SS Panzer Division Wiking”, which was to be Nordic volunteers… but I doubt they’d let you rock a beard either. Bugger that though, these days I’d rather desert that shave!

…but in the SS you have to obey orders!

To answer your question, @dignity – there were “Vikings” of a sort in WW2, 5th SS Panzergrenadier Division had the name “Viking,” drawn from volunteers from occupied Norway, Denmark, etc. they were definitely a bada$$ unit, but didn’t come out of the war with the cleanest of records, if you know what I mean (they were SS, after all). So you probably wouldn’t want to wear their uniform. 🙂 Oh, and “Herr Generalfeldmarschall Warzan,” late war Russian general and marshal uniforms might also interest you. Talk about “more is more.” I swear these guys were afraid of assassination becas they… Read more »

Hi,
I haven’t read the full history of Wiking division but the last remaining Finnish veterans are very clear about atrocities. They say that they neither committed nor were even aware of any atrocities. Well I guess only they know the truth what each battalion did or did not in the war.

Well, I haven’t read the full history of Wiking, either. But out of the four “main” or “famous” Waffen SS divisions (of course there’s eventually be 35+ divisions) – 1st SS Liebstandarte Adolf Hitler, 2nd SS Das Reich, 3rd SS Totenkopf, and 5th SS “Wiking” . . .I’ve read that AS A DIVISION, Wiking was often the “worst . . .” with the possible exception of 1st SS LAH. Source: The Waffen SS: Hitler’s Elite Guard at War, 1939-45 – which, just for one example, includes some grisly details of the division’s activities in and around Zhitomir during Manstein’s “Backhand… Read more »

There is also this unit made up of Scandinavian volunteers Justin?

I think you will find that most of the survivors of volunteer nazi divisions from any occupied country will quite stalwartly deny commitiing any atrocities, even in the face of overwhelming evidence. They saw themselves as fighting the good fight and not as atrocity-commiting quislings (sic!)

It was interesting to see how Warren asserts his control over Justin in the control room! Btw he might be in costume – he could be a sleeper agent in civil clothes.

By the time you got yourself an uniform the bootcamp is already over. Plus there isn’t an uniform that eguals your geniousness 😉

I think Warren would be ok in a Para Smock, it was designed to fit over Bulky equipment!

Has he checked whether the jodhpur trousers also come in his size? And the boots? And the hat? And a fieldmarshal’s baton…
Then you need the HQ group, the halftrack…

Just get yourself a Panzerfaust. Then you can go around Panzering people!

…well, something like that anyway, that doesn’t sound quite right…
