Exploring Kevin's Juno Beach Table

One of the awesome tabletops that we saw here this weekend was this brilliant Juno Beach tabletop from Kevin. This is a full on labour of love and is a wonderful and (as close as) accurate representation of what they would have been facing during the invasion attempt.

It features lots of great infantry, tanks and those massive landing craft too which are a joy to behold.

Well done Kevin!

Simply fantastic models and layout.

I wonder if OTT could get Kevin to do a build article on the landing craft both large and small.

Maybe Lloyd has already done something like this and I missed it?

Again Well Done Kevin! ?☺

If anyone is interested these are printed card the roads are made out of (well about 99% sure). https://www.metcalfemodels.com/product/m0051-00-h0-cobblestone-sheets/

I have use Metcalfe Products before on model railway stuff and actually have some of their Tarmacadan Shhets to turn into roads sometime!

Astoundingly the 20mm craft do not seem to be unbearably and terribly out of scale. And again, the house opposite the huge landing craft reminds me of a house I saw in TV footage on D-Day covering the British landings.

I was lucky enough to get a long chat with Kevin today. Really impressive project he has completed. Those landing craft look all the more stunning in person. It was Sword beach, btw. Queen Red sector.

Maybe it’s just me but I can hardly see the difference in scale between the landing craft and the tank. Looks amazing
