Don’t Miss Bad Squiddo’s Ace Women Of WW2 Kickstarter
August 29, 2025 by brennon
Bad Squiddo Games are currently on Kickstarter with their brilliant Woman of World War 2 Kickstarter, which is focused on bringing to life a range of real-life individuals who helped change the course of the conflict. The theme this time is Resistance and those behind the scenes who gave everything for their countries.
Women of World War 2: Resistance // Bad Squiddo Games
All of these miniatures have a story to tell, diligently researched by Annie Norman of Bad Squiddo Games. They were then sculpted by Alan Marsh and brought to life as you see them here. The majority of the miniatures are one-piece pewter figures but you will also find a set of resin miniatures in the mix for the more complicated designs.
Vera Laska // Bad Squiddo Games
All of the miniatures are 28mm in scale, so they will work with all of the popular World War II wargames like Bolt Action, Chain of Command, V for Victory and beyond. I think that these would be absolutely perfect for 02 Hundred Hours, which is a game all about fighting behind enemy lines.
Schaft & The Oversteegens // Bad Squiddo Games
The likelihood is that you might not know much about all of these women who were integral to the war effort in their own way. Many of the nations occupied by the Axis could put up a resistance without being brutally put down, so anything that these women did would have come at great risk.
Pearl Witherington // Bad Squiddo Games
I don't have space to tell all of their stories here but that's for you to go away and research. I was particularly taken by Vera Laska (shown above), who had an amazing escape from a train when she'd been captured. If that's not a 02 Hundred Hours scenario, then I don't know what is.
Iro Konstanttopoulou // Bad Squiddo Games
You can get your hands on these miniatures individually or as part of bundles. More miniatures have also been unlocked through the course of the campaign, including the Add-On for the S.O.E set that you can see below.

Even if you don't end up using these miniatures in your games, they would be perfect for a diorama or two. You could do a lot with these miniatures, telling their stories and how they fit into the wider World War II narrative.
Bonus Additions
As well as the miniatures, Bad Squiddo Games has worked with Handiwork Games and Rolltex to provide you with some neat bonus buys. If you want a nice background for your miniature photography, then you can get either the A4 or A3 World War Ruins book by Jon Hodgson.

If you're seeking something for your terrain and diorama building, you also have this Trax Roller, which will give you the signs of a Sherman or Panzer passing by.
Tank Texture Roller // Rolltex
These are available for you to get your hands on as part of the Kickstarter and could be nice for those seeking to bulk out their World War II-themed hobby arsenal. Are you going to be checking out this new Bad Squiddo Games Kickstarter and if so, which characters will you be picking up?

I’m in for this. A lot will sit nicely with my inter war socialists, the rest will be a joy to paint and you never know when they’ll come in handy
