WizKids are bringing the classic Dungeons & Dragons game, Three-Dragon Ante, back to the tabletop with a new Legendary Edition which features new components, crisp and awesome looking art and more.

Three Dragon Ante Legendary Edition - WizKids

WizKids very handily put together a quick rundown of the basics of the game...

"Each hand, players ante gold to the stakes and compete to play the strongest flight of three cards, dragons, or mortals. The strongest flight wins that gold from the stakes, but playing weaker cards triggers your cards’ powers and sets you up to win the next hand."

This game was born of many an adventurer heading into taverns and wanting to wager their hard-earned gold and so it's nice to see it back on the tabletop. It was pretty hard to get ahold of the game before this new edition of the game but I know a few folks had it stored away in their collections.

One of the cool things about this particular game is that they have also included a set of ability discs with the set so that you can properly work this into your games of Dungeons & Dragons and use this as a chill game with friends and as part of your campaign when the Rogue and Bard fancy chancing their arm.

If nothing else I'd like to have the set simply because I like the look of the components and artwork. The twist on traditional bluffing and such from poker is nice to see here with the way you can use the powers on cards to affect gameplay in different ways. It adds another element to the game which makes it feel that little bit more Fantastical.
