It has been a busy weekend and I knew that I wouldn’t get much done. Things should quieten down a bit now and I’m hoping to make daily progress even if that just means an hour of painting here and there. Today I have been working on the Reaver’s armour plates.

I’ve worked the base coats up with an airbrush. The white is simply Army Painter’s Matt White with a very light wash of GW’s Nuln Oil over the top, again applied through the airbrush. I went through the process of getting the green plates done in the last post so I won’t go into detail about it here again. I do plan on adding a little depth with some shadows; mixing in a little Army Painter’s Grimoire Purple to the mix. We’ll see how that turns out very soon.

I used masking tape to mask off the white stripes on the knee pad and front half of the shoulder armour. I carefully cut thin lengths of the tape 3mm wide and then made sure that the edges of the tape were tight to the surface of the armour to avoid the paint bleeding into the white areas.

As you can see below there was some bleeding but this will easily be covered up through the weathering process. The kneepad will also have one of the Legio Krytos’ transfers on it. Next job is to finish shading and highlighting the green armour plates and add transfers before the weathering process begins.
