Major Cities: V’Vorcia

Asherah Prime is a beautiful ocean world, the blue jewel that crowns the Asherah Expanse and classed as a capital world by the Empire. Blessed with abundant seas and favourable winds, Asherah Prime has long served as the sacred gathering place of the noble houses, who reside in stunning white cities and palaces that float in the skies over the waves.

So captivating are the vistas the Empire built a palace to be a pinnacle piece of imperial architecture formed from millions of shimmering blades that turn slowly about a central palace. As a benefitting for a world once deemed the imperial capital for this part of space, the planet is protected by a vast energy shield, projected from huge generator towers that burst from the waves to loom into the sky.

The capital of V’Vorcia is the largest floating city on the planet where the noble houses of the planet hold council. It is full of political intrigue and scandal befitting its status in the expanse; what transpires in the gleaming council chambers and scintillating banquet halls have major ramifications that affect every corner of the known space.

Orbital Metrics: 322 days per year/20 hours per day

Population: 3,600,000,000 (80% Human, 20% other)

Major Cities: Cora

Asherah Nova is a standard terrestrial planet but unlike other planets in the galaxy, a single, large man-made ring circled its equator. Serving as the shipyards the ring is an immense scaffold in space, bridged and augmented with enormous habitats and machinery.

Inside the scaffolding is a myriad of ship skeletons and other craft, with tiny bright dots drifting to and from the ships under construction with the habitats of the station.

The orbital ring had a total inhabitable area of less than three hundred thousand square kilometres, thus making its liveable space smaller than a typical planetary substation.

The majority of goods that past into and out of the Sector pass through Asherah Nova, and it is here that goods and cargo manifests are inspected, recorded and taxed before being transferred from local freighters or massive space barges that run the trade routes into the Galactic Core.

This requires a huge number of services, and the entire system is overseen by guild masters personally appointed by the nobility of each of the houses. Tariffs are collected, filling the coffers of the noble houses, but they, in turn, pay a sizable proportion to the Empire.

Corruption, smuggling, bribery, tampering, and theft are inevitable, and the Falleen Princess Xedvan is the undisputed master of the darker aspects of the trade hub. Her base of operations is the luxurious palace at the centre of the trade sector on the largest of the orbital ring, and her power that on part of ring she can in a whim shut down most operations within Asherah Nova, and thus The Reach.

The shipyards are where her influence is weakest; here the mechanics and shipwrights are allied in powerful and belligerent trade unions that keep her at bay. The entire collection of myriad orbital bodies and stations are protected by an array of defensive systems. Those fools who attempt to raid Asherah Nova rarely if ever get a second chance.

Great chains of shard mountains cross the planet and pierce the sky, some reaching even into space; the wonder and cold beauty of this world are renowned.

The transition from the Republic to Imperial rule was relatively smooth; the citizens value peace and security above all things, and Governor Jaira Rholar has done much to ensure this tranquillity is maintained, though at great cost to personal freedoms. Public outcry and dissent are virtually unheard of; the Empire considered Janutra to be a role model world for the sector and recruits heavily from youth seeking something more adventurous. Everyone on the planet follows every event on a yearly race calendar.

With the rise of the Empire, the Imperial Military took control of the station due to its placement along trade routes and was renamed as Imperial Hub Station KC166.

That anyone would choose such a forlorn place may be a surprise, it is believed that Yinrâ Koihûs contains some the strange power: those who were swiftly interred within days of passing may live on again, albeit in a ghostly form.

Some great wonder was at work on the world, and the dead continue to appear before the living and commune with them, though there are some limitations. The dead could not learn anything new, only recall memories from their living days, and they must receive regular contact, or their memories will fade away, leaving a ghostly apparition of their former selves. It is believed by some that those who are risen are the dark memories of those and wish to return to undertake some dark purpose for the planet.

A great temple to some ancient lord, the largest single structure stands at the centre of the planet. Here the vast marbled halls are filled with silence, in the past petitioners could have brought their fallen and seek permission to bury them on Yinrâ Koihûs. If it had been approved, instructions, where to find their final resting place, were given, and once the fallen was interred in the soil of the world, they may rise once more. There are sad tales of the living being unable to let go of loved ones buried on Yinrâ Koihûs, remaining in the presence of the past, till they too die.

All attempts to study the planet have met with failure; expeditions have been known to encounter extraordinary runs of ill luck and data corruption. For now, the secrets of Yinrâ Koihûs remain undisturbed, and the jump beacons have been destroyed and the primary jump point is under a blockade that was until the fall of the Empire.
