Great minis from when Orks had character …
Some of the later stuff is OK but the stuff I liked left gw with kev adams.
I wouldn’t know who made what, but I think the Orks in particular lost some of their crazy character in 8th/9th edition.
This could have started before, but all I know is that compared to the dedicated Ork book that GW did in the early days the modern Ork codex is boring.
IT’s as if they stopped emphasizing how crazy close ork technology is to magic.
kev adams was the guy who did almost all of the original orks and goblins for 40k and fantasy once he left they moved to a different face shape and they got alot bigger and more muscular. Generally they stopped having expressions other than angry. The slightly wacky look of the original orks/goblins matched the rules. I guess the move over to the more grim dark pushed them into making them more savage looking. I was hoping the new orks that are being released would have brought back some of the character but I guess not.
