About the Project

After going to the effort to create a modular Necromunda board i figured it would be a bit amiss if i didn't also post some pictures of the denizens of the Hive. This Project is to show off the Gangs, Bounty Hunters, Mutants and other general scum found deep within the hive cities of Necromunda.

I was really hoping for a remake of Mad-Donna but in all fairness Belladonna is pretty awesome, ex Escher, crazy 80's/baroque hair, cybernetic limbs and a power axe.... oh and she murdere a Sumpcroc.... WITH A SHOE! I mean come on, what kind of nutter uses a shoe!?I was really hoping for a remake of Mad-Donna but in all fairness Belladonna is pretty awesome, ex Escher, crazy 80's/baroque hair, cybernetic limbs and a power axe.... oh and she murdere a Sumpcroc.... Those of you lucky enough to still have their lives, take them with you! However, leave the limbs you've lost, they belong to me now...Those of you lucky enough to still have their lives, take them with you! However, leave the limbs you've lost, they belong to me now...

I never liked the original Delaque models, but of all the things that have changed in the overhaul of Necromunda these models have benefited greatly!! Where there was once a group of guys who looked like they had watched the matrix too many times and developed a severe trench-coat fetish, there now stands a gang of men (and women) who now feel they have been plucked straight from Dark City (1998) and took a detour to the space navigators guild from Dune! they fit into the grimdark setting perfectly. This particular gang is a secretive group within an already mysterious house, each member is selected from other Delaque gangs in Necromunda and even other hive cities, once a member is selected they have a month to prepare for the "Trial of the Stygian Path" quite literally a maze of corridors in the underhive which has been plunged into darkness and rigged with traps set up by other members of the gang. To pass the trial the initiate must prepare over the month using their skills as a Delaque to gather information to tip the odds in their favour, this can be done through any means which they deem necessary. If the initiate makes their way through the corridors and emerge on the other side then they are met at the other end by the current members and welcomed as a fellow Scion. Despite being an experienced ganger each member is treated as a fresh Juve and are expected to hone their skills with the most basic equipment.
Kvothe the Silence is the current leader of the Scions of the Stygian Path, already a skilled Delaque before being invited to join the Scions. When the time came to conduct the Trial of the Stygian Path everybody witnessed him entering, the doors sealed, but he never emerged at the end. The Old leader waited for hours before dismissing him as a failure. Upon returning to his Habitation Dormitory he was greeted by Kvothe who had taken the liberty of cracking the safe and sat offering the Leader a glass of his own Amasec to toast his success, the details of his time in the corridors have been kept a closely guarded secret to others but it was enough to impress the old leader and at that time, avoid getting a stiletto blade between his ribs.Kvothe the Silence is the current leader of the Scions of the Stygian Path, already a skilled Delaque before being invited to join the Scions. Ok... Look at this guy.... Seriously why have Squats not been brought back into 40k, who wouldn't want want an army of angry, hard drinking, power hammer swinging dwarves in power armour!! I have heard that GW is planning to release more squat miniatures in necromunda and i am very tempted to get a small (pun intended) gang together. Ok... Look at this guy.... The next character in my collection of underhive scum and outlaws, Eros Slagmyst the wandering water vampire, the design of this guy really grabbed me, something akin to some wandering Japanese ronin with Tau armour, his backstory is quite bizarre even for the underhive and I imagine him to be almost like the water draining devices in the Tank Girl film The next character in my collection of underhive scum and outlaws, Eros Slagmyst the wandering water vampire, the design of this guy really grabbed me, something akin to some wandering Japanese ronin with Tau armour, his backstory is quite bizarre even for the underhive and I imagine him to be almost like the water draining devices in the Tank Girl film
Just imagine meeting this creepy f**ker in the dark corridors of the hive. Just imagine meeting this creepy f**ker in the dark corridors of the hive. "have you come to purchase water.... or would you care to donate? You look like you have a couple of litres to spare"

My first real conversion for the Necromunda, the Sump King! Once the son of an upper spire noble his life was forever changed on his 33rd birthday, his wealthy family attempted to hide his minor mutations and his weak psychic abilities but the inquisition have a way of finding witches and mutants. Sentenced to death for the crime of being an aberration and an unlicensed psyker he panicked and fled into the lower hive, hounded for days he was eventually brought down by an autopistol round to the stomach, refusing to give up he crawled to an open sewer intake and flung himself in. He would eventually awaken in the hellish surroundings of the sump, close to death and delirious with fever he would begin to hear haughty chuckling and a gurgling rotten voice offering power, life, vitality and a chance to bring ruination to his accusers, without a second thought he submitted and gave his soul to Nurgle... and the sump king was born.My first real conversion for the Necromunda, the Sump King! I cant tell you how much i love the new sculpts for Necromunda, when they first revealed the images for Gor Half-Horn I instantly wanted a full gang of these burly bruisers but for now I'll have to be happy with just ol' Gor. The Electrofisher Deepdivers, the name Electrofisher comes from a Manga series by the name of Blame! created by Nihei Tsutomu. The Electo fishers were a group of humans surviving in a vast ever growing city who's only means of survival were to keep exploring and searching for lost tech and equipment... sound familiar? I did like the original Van Saar paintjob but i wanted to make mine a little darker and experiment with some glow effects for the pipes. To be honest I'm not really happy with the final results, the varnish i used ended up clouding up over the paint job and needed to be fixed, the varnish also created a frost effect on the energy shield. I think I'll get another pack of these in the future and give them another shot since the Van Saar are my gang of choice. The Electrofisher Deepdivers, the name Electrofisher comes from a Manga series by the name of Blame! created by Nihei Tsutomu. As usual i painted the bases up with a half and half colour, this time going for the rust mix that i made up in my underhive board project. https://www.beastsofwar.com/project-entry/1308285/

Group shot of the Chem-Hellions, Inspiration for this gang was mainly the colour scheme of Batmans Harley Quinn (original comics not that god awful suicide squad film) so mainly red, black and white with a few hints of green here and there. The name is mainly due to the Eschers being the drug queens of the hive as well as being psychotic hell-raisers.Group shot of the Chem-Hellions, Inspiration for this gang was mainly the colour scheme of Batmans Harley Quinn (original comics not that god awful suicide squad film) so mainly red, black and white with a few hints of green here and there. The Group shot of the Junghein Wreckers, named after a heavy machinery company called Jungheinrich, in keeping with the name i wanted to paint them up in the colour scheme of heavy industrial machinery so lots of yellow, black and red. As a final touch I also wanted a little functional flavour to the bases, each of the circles were masked off at the half-way point, the back half painted with standard black while the front half would have a unique colour or design appropriate to that gang, this would act as both an interesting focal point as well as defining the front and back facing of the miniature.
