About the Project

Playing Fallout is fun. Having the tiles scatter around not so much

So I brainstormed a little bit and came up with this design

What it could be

I tried to copy the layout of the cards from the mat just because it makes sense once you have played the game.

As you can tell by the picture every tile would have its own frame to keep it in place. After that was sketched up out I build a quick prototype.

The mechanic works as intended I’m just not sure if I can build the board and keep it straight with all those little parts that would have to be glued down.

I’m currently considering a design without frames for each tile but a big frame with blank inserts to keep everything in place.

What do you think?

So in Fallout the boardgame you have multiple tiles which make your gaming space. They are hex shaped, 58mm on the edge with a 116mm diameter. But since one essential gaming mechanic is turning them around during play, they tend to slip a lot. Which annoys me more then it should.

What it is

FFG themselves have released a gaming mat that looks really cool but still has no boarders to keep the tiles in place.
