About the Project
This project went from recreating my version of ‘Last Stand at Glazers Creek’ to an Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum) force from the Praetorian Guard of the XXIV that closer represents ‘The Battle of Big Tooth River’. The Imperial Guard force is now complete (part 1), comprising 140+ miniatures that includes infantry, armour, artillery, aircraft and supporting units. Now onto the terrain (Glazers Creek Farmstead) which will be part 2 of this project. Part 3 will be the Orks that I have created a separate project thread for.

Last Stand at Glazers Creek Update 12
Completed ‘Abandoned Chimera’ scenery/diorama from Forgeworld. I knew I would enjoy painting this and fits in well with the current force. I painted the interior and applied additional weathering, including: sand, soot, grime and rust where I believed it would work. I like the way it appears to have suffered a mobility kill and thrown a track, possible mine strike ?, but the vehicle wasn’t immediately abandoned from the sandbags around the rear troop compartment placed there by crew and passengers as a temporary bunker. I will likely add dead/dying Praetorian guardsman around it to finish it off.Last Stand at Glazers Creek Update 11
I have here another standard bearer for the Praetorian guard command squad. However, the banner pile snapped and the banner itself got wet, so I decided to do a slight conversion on the model using the Tempestus Scion command banner bearer arm. I removed the ‘Scion’ wording as well. I think it looks okay.

Next - what I think is a very cool piece of Forgeworld scenery/diorama. I bought this so long ago I can’t remember when, but have always loved it, really looking forward to paintings this one. Already stripped the previous colour and applied a base coat. Interior will be painted and I may add some of the wounded/dead Praetorian’s I have to it as well.
