Guild Ball Kick Off Spring Clean

About the Project
I fell in love with the minis and the lets plays on this site for Guild Ball. I started by priming, painting the balls and mascots and then tried to explain the rules to my son to play with the Kick Off box set. Didn't find it easy to convey the rules because every character has different powers and strengths. When he didn't really seem into the game from the outset and i didn't know enough about the game, his characters or mine, to explain the options it all broke down and we gave up and packed it away. In the end i got very disheartened and other painting projects wormed their way onto the bench and the box has gathered dust since 2017. I need to get some enjoyment out of this present that was bought for me all that time ago. If i have to sell it because i can't find anyone to play it, in the flooded Blood Bowl rich player base since the GW relaunch in the meantime, well then so be it, but i want some fun out of this box even if it is just to paint them. The Spring Clean Challenge seems as good a time as any to get these two starter set teams painted.

This Project is Completed
Any Given Friday.
Friday completes the starter set Brewers team.
Very glad how quickly the project has progressed.
I allowed the primer to carry some of the work for me. On some trousers and boots i literally just added an Agrax or Nulin Oil wash to define it from other browns on the mini. Some parts won’t pop quite so well on the minis because i only did a modicum of highlighting but I am happy with the finished team.
If you were wondering, the ginger hair was Jokaero Orange base with Trollslayer Orange highlights. Friday’s blond hair was Averland Sunset. I think all the hair had either Reikland Fleshshade or Casandora Yellow wash applied. I think Topper’s hair had both.
Next will be the Masons.
Masons Starting Point
Again i had gotten as far as priming and basing and some splashes of metal for some reason.
I had already painted their ball and their mascot Marbles. First time around.
Marbles (Elgin Bubbles Horatio Marbles III)
I was quite proud of Marbles. (That’s why I gave his full pedigree birth certificate name above. ?)
The freehand Mason sign on his chest pad and facial colouring came out pretty well.
Haven’t changed anything since his first paintjob back in 2017.
Brick
Used Citadel Contrast paints a lot on this mini.
Talassar Blue for the majority of the blue. Ultramarines Blue for the dark centre of the stripes on his trousers and Snakebite Leather on the straps etc.
The trousers are Celestra Grey with Grey Seer highlight and the hair is Averland Sunset with Casandora Yellow wash again.
Mallet's Mallet
Mallet’s mallet needs to be straightened, but otherwise OK with the model and the paint job.
Honour
I think that the team members will be easy to tell apart, yet the use of blues and the white trousers and blue stripe will help to bond the team together.
Harmony is next. Harmony is Honour’s sister, so will look similar but will have darker hair, as per the stats card art.
Harmony.
Ended up being a touch glossy, but some anti-shine Army Painter varnish has actually knocked that shine back a touch and i am now happy with her.
Finished Freddie Flint off.
Flint completes the Masons team. ?
I darkened Brick’s hair to take it a tone closer to the stat card art and to make Flint stand out with his lovely bright blond hair.
I may have over primed them, or perhaps because these are their first plastic minis, aiming to snag some boardgame normies, maybe the details were a touch soft. This made painting slightly more difficult than other minis I have worked on lately (I have been spoiled though.)
