About the Project
OK first time I’m trying this in a long long time. Surprising my little gaming group this Christmas with Moonstone. I’m doing a not so secret, Secret Santa. I’m picking up three factions for moonstone wrapping them up in three mystery packages. So that during our Christmas game we can randomly pick a faction. That bit’s easy purchase the boxes wrap them up and then on the dat we Ro Sham Bo for the privilege of first choice. Obviously to play we will need a gaming table to play on. That’s where we begin. I’m aiming for a 3x3 dark fantasy ruined/ghost town themed table. But obviously plans can change.

Trial run on the buildings
So this is just the ground floor so far and I’ve made four cardboard structures which I need to clad with brickwork, after which I then make the roof. I haven’t forgotten about the buildings which will sit along the edge of the board I just happen to have a tea crappy attention span and when inspiration hits me I have to run with it of I will forget things. 
Waiting for me to get to work on. No more building to be added, maybe a couple of Ruins but they shouldn’t be too difficult. COMMUNITY NOTICE!!
I have hit a slight issue. Probably should have thought about over all size of these pieces before making them. I have a big box to try and keep all the terrain I have made for this board in. Both for storage at home and to be able to transport it. I’m going to leave the piece as it is right now and At a later date cut it down and fix up the edges so it can fit the box. Moral of the story? Before you let your ideas run away from you think practically as well. Storage, transportation and how heavy is all this stuff. What’s next?
While I had the board laid out I had a think about what I wanted to do now. I place several pieces of card that I’d cut out, roughly 4 inches by 5 inches. These represent the footprint of the buildings whether ruined and accessible or complete sturdy and line of sight blocking. 
Nabbed this picture from the Crooked Moon promo I keep getting sent to my instagram and facebook reels. I love this style the crooked twisted form of the building appeals to me. I want try and lean into this style and design for the buildings. WIP. SO FAR SO GOOD!!
Don’t need any more levels or staircases for the board. Time for Scatter terrain. Maybe get those bridges started. 
Had 30 minutes free so decided to get some colour on these bits. 
“Where do these stairs go?”
I made a double staircase thought it looked a little bit boring, so I had a little mess around with some foamcard.
I learnt something today.
I had another of the raised areas made up that I need to finish brickwork on and then paint up
What have I learnt today? I learnt that hot glue guns are awesome for sticking the bricks on although they do get hot. Very hot. 
No more raised areas needed for the board now I don’t think. Time to get paint on everything and then concentrate on scatter terrain. 
It’s all about different board layouts. Something before lunch.
Started adding the brickwork to the stairs. 
Pretty happy with the results I think a couple more of these will look good on the table.
