Orcs
That fine fellow and bodyguard of the Duke Mr Augustus o’Toole
I enjoyed painting this one, but it’s the near the end of the orcs, so it’s time to focus on the French
Nail polish plus 7
Seven days sat in nail polish remover and the thick has come off. So a quick scrub with a toothbrush and back in the pot they go.
Stripping the French
Since this is spring cleaning I should really strip some models.
So off I poped to the Home Bargains and picked up a bottle of nail polish removed, making sure it has acetone (I’ve made that mistake before). So I’ll abandoned it now and see what’s happened in a weeks time.
Art work
I haven’t wrote about this but book that came with the set does have some lovely black and white artwork.
Recommendations
My archaic can of black undercoat spray (10 years plus) is about to give up the ghost. Does anyone in the UK have any recommendations for a replacement?
The first elf
I’m not overly happy with how the elf’s face turned out. There’s two much colour change on the face, that just doesn’t look right. Saying that, I’m not painting these to a gold demon standard, and this is just a ordinary musketelf so it will do.
Next will be the Iron Duke himself, before finishing off the elves.
Dressing the French
So rather than do the characters, I thought I would earn that reward and work through more of the line infantry. So on with the French, sorry elves.
So how to paint them. Been elves, I want to stick with that lord of the rings, pale skin and blond haired look, but they are also French soldiers.
A quick bit of Google fu and I’ve released the French had a complicated uniform system going on. In the main it’s a blue jackets, with a white shirt and white trousers. Since these guys don’t seem to have a particular regiment, I’m going to make them Grenadier. This is more down to aesthetic rather than anything else, as I believe the reds will make a nice contrast
Rifleorcs
I’m kind of happy how these have turned out.
I still need to base them, I just need to get some static grass.
Also with the models been lead, I think they should been varnished.
