Infinity Show Off Their September Releases!
September 29, 2014 by dignity
You all know what we're gonna check out by now so let's not beat around the bush! We have some cracking miniatures this month and as always the Infinity team have knocked it out of the park!
Kicking things off you'll have already seen Yojimbo for the Mercenaries of Infinity. This charismatic, badass biker hero is available for the Japanese Sectorial Army. Yojimbo rides his bike towards the enemy with his Krazy-Koalas ready to hand out some explosive hugs! You also get an extra miniature of Yojimbo standing on his feet ready for action.
Time for a look at the Kotail Mobile Unit from the Tohaa faction. This great looking trooper comes with some new skills like Holoprojector L2, Super-Jump, Symbiont Armor and from what Carlos has told us an extraordinary MOV value. He's therefore a perfect unit for getting right up in to your opponents deployment and causing a little havoc.
Now as with any army their line troopers are their backbone and the Fusiliers of PanO are no exception. With this new box that covers all their weapon options, there should be no issues in the field.
We all love cyber-punk rock chicks right? This month's offering from ALEPH ticks all the right boxes. Say hello to the Dactyls; a new trooper profile for the Assault Sub-Section of the ALEPH faction. These troops can have the Engineer option so they can be specialist troops and accomplish objectives in ITS.
Time for a look at a new miniature for the Combined Army now. Kornak Gazarot is a Morat hero and looks ready to kick some serious butt!
If your already in to your Infinity and want to pick up some easy to transport terrain then you'll be happy to hear that the Moto Tronica Scenery pack can now be bought on it's own as well.
Well that's all for this month! Stay tuned as I'm sure the guys in the Corvus Belli Studio are cooking up something special!
Which is your favourite release from this bumper crop?
Really loving the new Fusiliers. It is great to see these very early miniatures get a makeover and I think Corvus Belli have done a great job on them. Plus I am always a sucker for their bikes.
The only thing that is really stopping me from getting into Infinity at the moment, is the new rules that are on the horizon. I don’t really know anyone else to play this game with, but that can be off-set by the fact I can get 2 sets of forces to then loan one side out (especially the case with the Operation Icestorm). But if I managed to get any of my mates into the game, then for the time being, I don’t really want to point my friends in the direction of other forces knowing that the rules (which… Read more »
I suppose there is an argument for waiting – but the N2 rules are available for free and are relatively simple, so the transition to N3 is not something I think will be an issue; Most new players don’t use the complex rules for advanced gear and I believe that is where the majority of the big changes are (if you are worried about having to re-learn weapon ranges, you can find the new range charts online without too much trouble). I am super excited for Infinity N3 to launch, but I understand that the focus is getting Icestorm to… Read more »
I an quite sure most infinity players do not skip on the advanced gear rules. It is what really makes the game what it is.
However the change to N3 will not be hard to swal with and most of the base macanics are remaining the same. I would just go for it or just play with the ice storm rules for a month or two before the full rules are out.
Is that strictly true? Hacking seems to be getting a lot more rules, close combat seems to be getting a “buff” for what of a better word, camo is being made more consistent, and having a quick look at the infinity forums, some units seem to pay a tax for rules that don’t seem to provide a benefit (Morat’s not going into full retreat seems to be a disadvantage), in addition to some broad balancing (eg: the HMG). Ideally, I’d like to get Operation: Icestorm, play it with some mates, then be able to point them in the direction of… Read more »
I see it as a bit of an advantage because it means that I’ll be able to put more time in with Icestorm learning the basics and getting to learn smaller-scale combat. If N3 was out I’d likely just jump at that and spend (or at least want to) a lot more money on the new book and then bulking out my army. This way I can hold off on that a little bit and just enjoy the box until N3 is released. If anything this feels like the perfect time to get into the game. Icestorm will be bringing… Read more »
I’m normally not a fan of the Greek part of ALEPH, but I simply love the Daktyl.
I mean look at those arms! That girl i pumped
The naming of the terrain set would seem to indicate that they will be putting out more sets.
I will be looking forward to using all of my boxes
Am loving kornak! Got the whole omega red vibe goin on which is not a bad thing imo! Nice to see the terrain set is to be released separately too.
More Fusiliers is awesome, the more the merrier. I don’t like the thought of having duplicates and now I San field 8+ without having multiples of the same. Wish they will do the same to the metros for Ariadna.
