Scibor Miniatures Sire a New Sci-Fi Eagle Knight
June 12, 2012 by brennon
Another Sci-Fi knight has stepped out of his Imperial church to fight against the enemies of the galaxy from Scibor Miniatures. Check out the Eagle Knight below in a commanding pose...
He continues the same theme as many Sci-Fi Knights from Scibor and that's no bad thing. Some great detail work on the leg armour and the way in which the eagle symbol has been arched over his head could potentially see him being used as a Librarian of some kind?
I'm also a fan of that spikey hair and the rather awesome muttonchops/sideburns.
Will he be joining your Sci-Fi army?

That sculpt has plenty of detail and both sideburns and scenic base is nice touch. He has that leader pose and he looks like he is commanding his troops.
Im really loving these Scibor models.
Another piece that shows Scibor’s Spess Mahreen sculpts cobble together pieces more than making a unified design – the leg armour has different kneepad designs for each leg and the gun muzzle and chainsword battery are the same shaped block. I’m not a fan of the chestplate (too smooth and featureless compared to the shoulder pads) or the aquila over his head (looks like a back banner that got bent after dropping the model) either. There are as ever some good bits – the ‘hard man’ hairstyle adds more personality than the generic bald head and the chainsword’s handguard in… Read more »
Scibor do great resin models but have a massive issue making realistic weapons/guns, a LOT of their guns and weapons are quite literally a piece of card with a barrel on them (ok, not quite literally… but you get the idea). Pretty shoddy, impossible NOT to replace the Scibor weapons with GW or other ones. However the bulk of what they do is fantastic. This marines btw are more or less tru-scale so be warned.
The model has its good elements as some have mentioned, but one thing that stands out to me is the chain sword. The skull hand guard is upside down. If he holds it upright the skull will look odd. Grant it if it was designed the right way it would look odd from the position it’s held. It’s almost a give and take on that part I guess.
