Warhammer Fest Begins Wednesday! What Are You Looking Forward To?
May 2, 2022 by fcostin
Warhammer Fest will be kicking off this week! Starting on Wednesday, May 4th all the way up to Sunday, May 7th. With live previews on what to expect for the likes of 40k, Age of Sigmar, and of course, the much anticipated The Horus Heresy boxed set.
Hosted online, across the four days of reveals; each day has been themed specifically so you do not have to dip in and dip out between systems you are interested in. However, if you are around Warhammer World, there will be a mahoosive open day happening on the last day, returning to events out in the open.

Kicking off the event on Wednesday, May 4th (not celebrating Star Wars day sadly!), the first day of festivities will be dedicated to Warhammer 40,000. Second, we will be heading over to Age of Sigmar on Thursday, and a cheeky look at skirmish titles such as Kill Team, Warcry and Necromunda on Friday before completing the event with a deep dive into Horus Heresy on Saturday.
In terms of what can we expect? Looking at the banners at the top of the announcement, we've got a slight hint by logos. A proper and deep look into Imperial Fists and Sons of Horus for the Horus Heresy set maybe? More Squat model previews? Even the next steps for Kill Team and Ash Wastes?
Will you be logging on to Warhammer Fest this week? Whether it's more information about the Ash Wastes or simply definitive information on upcoming Horus Heresy news, be sure to check out the official Warhammer Twitch Channel for coverage across Warhammer Fest.
Is there something you hope to see announced or released at the event?

Ooh count me in I’ll try and keep up with the video’s a thing’s from everyone.
For 40k I think we are expecting a big choas release. I am hoping for fans of choas we get some new models as a few are quite dated. I also hope we see a new full faction as we have with death guard something like Emperors Children or Night Lord range.
AOS not 100% sure we have seen new battle tombs on the roadmap based on the banners one of those has to be Sylvaneth and the have seen Slaves to darkness teased on the community as well.
Kill Team is going to be the squats based on the Rumours. My money is squats vs Choas, traitor guard or cultists perhaps.
Warcry version II is expected just based on the typical release cycle we had Kill team last year so we are due a warcry update.
Necromunda is going to be new Ash Waste models the land train has been teased. So perhaps we might get Palanite Enforcers units to protect it ??? I certainly think we will see models for Ash Wastes for a different faction.
HH is at Warhammer World to kick off the Pre-orders. They have a HH game listed in mid June on the events for Warhammer world so it has to be launched before then to give people time to paint. So I guess launch of the pre-order is 7th with it releasing on the 21st. I think we are likely to also get more details of future release perhaps as you suggest something for Imperial fists so a wall I expect 🙂
GW have released 40k stats for two of the squat troop types … no word about powervalue or weapons yet.
WarCry is the only one that has no real info yet. The logo is different so that may indeed be a version 2.
Knowing GW this will probably go the Killteam route with new teams getting their stats in new boxed sets because having everything at release stops people from spending money …
Chaos Codex is already confirmed, so new models are a definite thing. Although tbh Chaos is one of the few factions that tends to stay in sync with spacemarine releases in terms of models. The big problem is that they are unlikely to ever repeat the ‘Realms of Chaos’ goodness of the Rogue Trader era. As with Orks and Eldar their faction has been reduced to stats with new rules.
Night Lord Mark 6 style miniatures for the Horus Heresy.
I can dream!
