The Weekender: FoW, Warmachine & Infinity Prizes!
July 13, 2013 by dignity
Welcome to The Weekender! Today the guys are talking about Warmachine: Tactics and how it's already rushed through it's funding target. But, is it actually going to be as good as we all hope?
Staying on the topic of Privateer Press the Battlebox & Beyond series is over! Don't fret though as they are all in the library ready for you to check out at your leisure. Also a little thing called Convergence is coming on Monday!
Warren also has plans for Flames of War For The Win and potentially taking his army onto the beaches of Normandy. What nefarious defences is he working on?
We also talked about the Journeyman League being run here at Tabletop Nation last week and now we have a bit of an update.
...also did I hear someone mention Inheritance? In The Weekender! Heresy of the highest order!

Would love me some Hordes love 🙂
holy crap warmachine game! I wonder if they will make a hordes expansion soon too
Congratz Winners!
Enjoy ur prizes!!
I like the sound of this ‘Inheritance’ idea for 40K, I guess I’m going to have to sign up and become a backstager 🙂
nice box of Hordes, I wouldn’t mind to get it 🙂
Woulkd love to have some more hordes minis !
more freebies? Your generosity is making it like a Ferrero Rochet advert round here 🙂
Great weekender, let´s see more like this, keep the good work.
yay for prizes, looking forward to a battlebox and beyond for other systems
If one of those Vietnam stories is Bolt Action Vietnam I will explode with delight.
Interesting to hear the thoughts on some of the new models. Must admit I actually quite like the Wall of Martyrs stuff but i do think it will need more going on around it on a board to make it look spot on.
Just bought the Warmachine Battlebox and would’t mind starting Hordes as well.
I want that prize! The turn 8 news made me happy, sniff.
great video. 🙂
Good show.
And I agree with Warren about GW;s design direction, I’ve not been a fan of it pretty much throughout 6th , despite the actual starter box having some of the best minis they produce being in it. Since th echaos dragon I just havent been impressed with any releases, I’d only pick out the Dark Angels Termie box set as something I would buy, the rest has gone from silly to idiotic in its appearance.
If they think going for kids is the smart business thats their choice, I’m not a fan and will move on more to other games than I already have, but I do wonder of they can keep a marketing and price structure they have created of a premium product at a very high cost whilst also just having pre and barely teen customers. I’m not sure the two are entirely compatible.
Agreed, I don’t think many teenagers will be able to drop just shy of £100 for a model. I sure as hell can’t at a moments notice…….unless bills go unpaid. Sadly this is the real world and paying the bills won.
I actually like the look of the new Wraith Knight and the Tau Riptide. Did you like thoses?
The new GW’s design direction is more and more obvious. It is one of the main reasons I’m leaving 40k completely.
I’m not sure about the new GW sculpts becoming more cartooney. But i think the paintjobs are. And i think they are photoshoping the pics and adding lighting effects after. Which makes them look a little unreal (or toylike). In the flesh with a darker style paintjob i think some of them will look a lot better than the official pics in white dwarf. Well, apart from the Lord of Skulls, which will always look stinking.
Although, i said so in my FLGS and got slammed down by the 40k players there, who all seemed to love it. I guess they were out without their dogs and white sticks 🙂
Anyway, great weekender guys, keep up the good work!
Would love to win this box, then gift it to Kat for her birthday later this year 🙂
Inheritance sounds like fun. Better also get my cryx painted
gimme some plastic crack love!
Awesome weekender, can’t wait for turn-8 with the new format 😉
I was wondering, if Gav is such a good player, i would like to know if he has an Youtube channel… i would like to see him play.
Good show
That Warmachine Tactics KS has just gone insane…
>.> would be nice to get that little battlebox, I am just getting into warmachine, would also be nice to see a little bit about the hordes as well. Also been thinking about supporting the kickstarter to get the cryx model..
Battlebox
Was that three wins for Stuart ?
nice, nice, nice.
Save Justin from the sauce.
Better get some Vietnamese tanks ready then shall I 😀
Great show…. should be another interesting project to be involved with !!!
Forgot to say in my previous post, i wanna see a video of you all playing Apocalypse. With the sauce 🙂
Thanks for the weekender update
Cool prize. I’ve been looking to branch out in to hordes.
Woot!
Quite interested in the warmachine kickstarter. Will have to check that out asap
Is Warren stealing Justin’s beard?
40k’s designs are… ugh. I held out, but eventually I gave up on liking Necrons since they all now look like Skynet Showgirls with their fancy hats and boas. I have a bunch of old stuff I should probably unload to pay for other things. I pretty much have to supply everything if I want to get anyone to play anything non-GW.
envious of jjube i must say
I got the Trollblood starter kit. It would to try the others ones.
Good episode, as usual guys!
I really like the idea of the battle box and beyond format being rolled out to other games! I look forward to the infinity ones.
Congrats winners !
An other entertaining episode guys.
Congrats to all the winners!
Good to see you guys this week, another great show.
That Inheritance project sounds really cool, there is a lot you could do with it. Got one question tho, you talking about the 2 lost legions the 2nd and the 11th right? I wonder what will happen when the Primarchs that went into the warp come back.
never played it, no one down my club is into it!!
What saddened me about apocalypse, and the new releases in general, is that the Chaos armies did not get a massive kit. That is madness!
I suppose CSM get a pass since they already have the defiler, and the Helldrake is pretty massive… but where are the daemon massive kits? Surely if eldar, Tau and GK get massive walkers, Chaos Daemons need some sort of Exalted Daemon or something.
BattleBox i need
As always, great stuff. Now gimme gimme gimme. 🙂
The studio needs an Imperator Titan.
Please Sir, I’m a poor boy and I sleep in an old warehouse with my pet rats. I play hordes but I’ve been using rocks and old tin cans for models. The other boys on my street laugh at me and kick my cans and throw my rocks. If I only had the models I KNOW I could beat them……please Sir…….(sniff)… let me show those bully’s…… Didi I mention I think you guys are really handsome :), I wish I could be like you sir.
Best part of the week!! WeekenderFTW!
Awesome episode guys!
Good show guys and show me the Hordes!!!
I would love to win some hordes! I tried out the trollbloods but I can’t really seem to get into them unfortunately
Rematch Mackaness! We’re bumping up in points now so I’ll have more stuff to throw at you.
Your bargaining posture is highly dubious; But very well. I will provide you with a new body, and new troops to command.
And?!
I’d say there may be less comments if you were giving away a lord of skulls for a prize. 🙂
Underwear!
Love to have that two player box.
I like the inheritance idea. Although I think you have to change the name of Quantum loning. Quantum mechanics deals with matter at its fundamental level, how it behaves, energy states, mass-energy, ect. When you talk of Quantum loning I think of matter replication over a small period of time (i.e. the uncertainty principle). Our understanding of time is driven by the concept of entropy in thermodynamics. Don’t get me wrong i’m not saying that there is no connection, there may well be; feynman diagrams can show things moving back though time but this is interpreted specificaly by partical physicists. This is just a FYI thought it might be interesting.
Temporal Loaning and Quantum Lock ?
Temporal loaning would work, also consider temporal-shifting, chrono-shifting anything along those lines. Quantum lock suggests a freezing or holding of an energy state. So you could say Quantum lock for a phase and then be repaied that phase back the following turn. Quantum lock could also suggest that a state cant be changed l.e. giving up a turn for a turn of immunity something like that.
Just getting into Hordes. Eyeballing that 2 player box for a while.
i could not agree any more with warren on the whole 40K cartoon thing that GW have got going on. it’s just a joke now. they look like toys rather than models. The new Khorne thing is completely disgusting. everything seems to be aimed at little kids now and not the die hards. the only reason i go down to my local GW store is to say hi the my mate who is the manager and to pick up some paints, apart from that i won’t touch anything else, this is mostly the reason why i have turned to forgeworld, where the space marines are space marines and not some cartoon network looking marines covered in wings! it’s suppose to be a grim dark future not some fairy tale story what a crack addict came up with when he was high
Oh give me battle box, I know a very deserving home for them. My best mate and his dad are great admirers of my Khador, I’d love to give them the battlebox fully painted. Get them involved and playing it.
Yep would love some Hordes. Currently editing a podcast interview with Simon Berman about the stuff coming up for the Iron Kingdoms RPG and of course about the Kickstarter.
cool video!!!sure wish i win something!!!
I was thinking of getting back into Hordes, this price would help a lot.
hahaha!! you guys are so mean to justin, but justin should of had at least a little taste, good video guys.
I need one ot those precioussss Hordes boxes.
Should have just got Warren to taste it first.
Lets go battlebox, will finally prevent my friend from refusing to try due to not wanting to buy the models
Battlebox joy!
I am sorry to comment on the video and threaten Justin with the sauce, but I would like to compete for the hordes set for 2. Would be a breath of fresh air from wh40k… Thanks!
I loved them talking about journeyman because are store is starting one cant wait
…..WARMAHORDES…IS AWESOME!!!!…..I JUST LOVE TO HEAR THE WAY PEOPLE GETS EXITED ABOUT THEIR WARMAHORDES BATTLES!!!!!!!…
Nice one fellas 🙂
I would love me some Hordes 🙂 I run a warmachine club at the school I run this would be brilliant to show them the hordes mechanic.
Great episode guys.
Great show as always. I loved the background for the inheritance stuff but it seems much better suited to the Fantasy Flight RPG games than tabletop 40k. It would take a full rewrite to make those 40k rules serviceable.
Also, you guys are such wimps being afraid of a tiny dab of hot sauce.
this would give 2 chances of not messing up painting flesh
nice box of hordes 🙂
Not saying its not what gw is doing but marketing warhammer to kids is rediculous what kid can afford a 80 wraithknight?
You can never have enough sauce!
Battlebox
Someone put me in a coma and wake me up when Warmachine Tactics is out.
Great video. I agree with Warren about the best thing about Apocalypse being able to use whatever models you have. Would love to see a battle with every space marine IC vs Chaos and all their ICs.
that Hordes battle box would be great way for me and friend to get into Warmachine & hordes universe
Yep, agree with the cartooney style comments. Cartoon Network anybody? Love the Fluff of the 41st so much though that Im actually surprised at how much fun Im having playing 40K at the club recently. Whats the story with BoW getting late shipments of products, more crazy Business Plans from GW?
Inheritance is comming along verry well, which Im glad of but most importantly…Dun Dun Dun, TURN 8 returns! Yippeeeee.
Glad to see weve got our heads on again guys and the past two weekenders have been great, might have something to do with Warren being back.
Stew, you seemed a bit upset or was it just me…something on youre mind, GW getting you down or am I totally wrong there?
I like that the XLBS is now on a sunday and it just keeps giving me more and more reasons to return to my Fave gameing channell…awww, feel the love. Thanks again guys 🙂
battle box crack.
3 wins you say?
Great show as per usual, good luck to everyone in the prize draw.
Don’t know why but I like hordes a lot more than WM.
What doesn’t make sense to me in the fluff for Inheritance, is why these two Primarchs aren’t using the warp, when mankind had used the warp to get to the planets they colonised before Primarchs or the Emperor existed, and when the Emperor is using the warp to lead his Great Crusade through it in order to reach the lost planets and reunite them into his Imperium?
Why would the Emperor be using the Warp but not his two “Spec Ops” Primarchs on their secret mission? Every Primarch knows the Emperor has the most ultimate psychic capabilities of anyone around, so why would only these two Primarchs be ignorant of this and his power?
It doesn’t make sense.
Remember these guys understand, harness and develop technology.
They simply found somthing safer, more reliable and just as fast in their temporal manipulation technologies.
They have had 10000 years to ‘evolve’ and that’s a key diferentiator, they didn’t stand still. 🙂
Ahh haaaaaa…. got it, lol! I kept thinking that they had the new technology to begin with, but obviously it had to be developed over time.
So they travelled through space, for ages, without using warp drives, (or Astropaths, probably taking no one with psychic powers with them), spent a long time to find another planet from which to start developing technology on, in order to, over time, develop new and safer, interstellar technology, and then used it to travel vast differences.
That now makes sense, thanks for clearing that up, lol. 😀
But I doubt that, in all that time, 10,000 years, that some of the people they would find on their missions to other planets, haven’t evolved into mutants, just like the people within the boundaries of the Imperium have, and that they would also be surprised to find them in the Imperium upon their return.
Why would they have evolved into mutant races but everyone the lost Primarchs meet outside of the Imperium, hasn’t? Unless they have, and that the lost Primarchs have destroyed them along the way, which fits in with what you said in the video; they’re a bit fascist. 😀
In a way, Justin is right but not for his mistake, lol; there are two other missing Primarchs: The Lion and Russ.
Wouldn’t/shouldn’t Russ come back in the same manner as these two lost Primarchs? And what about The Lion – he’s meant to awaken when he’s needed most, so surely this would wake him up?
Both these chapters are still, in essence, Legions; more so the Space Wolves. The Dark Angels keep in close contact with their successor chapters and the Imperium suspects them of maintaining Legion tendencies, and the Space Wolves tried to make a successor chapter in the Wolfbrothers, but they went wrong/were lost, so they just operate as separate Great Companies in the size of a chapter, but they’re still all Space Wolves, operating from the same homeworld of Fenris.
So, bearing that in mind, wouldn’t the returning of the new Primarchs affect the DA’s and SW’s stance on being a part of the Imperium in it’s current guise, and lead them to join the lost Primarchs, in a bid to reawaken The Lion and find out where Russ is?
I think these two chapters would definitely join them and be a part of this Inheritance and get rid of the superstitious beliefs. Although the DA do have the Watchers in the Dark, and they, and the SW have psykers, so the two Primarchs might put the boot in for them for that…
I agree about the toy-like design of the Khorne thing. People are already trying to convert it to have legs. I think instead they should’ve made a murderous blade threshing machine from hell, lol. Something totally brutal, a real daemonic engine. Not a giant berseker torso on tank tracks!
The Necron one looks like a couple of drop pods cut apart and stuck together with Necron bits filling the details in. And the C’tan SHard guy in the middle of it is just a boring human with noodle tendrils and a mask. The prices for them are ridiculous too, £95 each? Eff off!
I’d say, make your own conversion that can use it’s rules or make your own rules up and sod GW.
Well done Unit Forward! You spoke to him and me at the Grumpies about doing videos on Dust Warfare. Been busy atm (looks like I’ll be storyboarding a 10 minute short soon too, so I’m waiting for the shot list for that). 🙂
the weekender makes great background noise for painting
I think you’re right about the increasing ‘toy-ness’ of GW. I saw a thread on another site where they had ordered a load of ball and socket joints designed for toys and fitted them to some GW minis. The disturbing thing is that they didn’t look out of place at all.
That Hordes set needs to be won to remove as much Legion as possible from general circulation. Although the minis are very pretty.
Congratulations to the winners!!
Aww yeah Hordes!
Good show guys. Always look forward to the Weekender.
Another great show. !!
Hoping Allesio one day does a sci- fi version of Bolt Action.
Especially good show this time.
I am really looking forward to more of the “battlebox and beyond” videos since I think those are one of the best videos you have been producing recently (besides “FoW for the win” of course). So I’m really glad you’ve been announcing them!
cheers from Austria!
Cool Turn 8 back, I’ll get some the beers stocked up in anticipation :).
FoW Vietnam ANZAC troops (with SLR’s ;)) and the Centurion Mk5’s, surely FTW.
But you guys are going to cost me a fortune as I just started a 7th “Desert Rats” Armoured division force for FoW WW2 with Cromwell tanks (same armour/AT values as Sherman but classed in movement as light tank ;)).
Also like the sound of the Dreadball/Warmachine/X-Wing games lol.
I do agree that some of the new GW models have a toy feel but you have to check out malifaux’s Lazarus
Congratiulations to the winners 🙂
Grats to the winners
The inheritance sounds awesome, Kinda hope that the Imperium survives and stays ignorant tho 😉
Never played Hordes but have played Warmachine. Replacing warjacks with monsters is fine especially as the monsters can be used in other fantasy.or sci-fi games.
I actually really like the look of the new necron apocalypse model, but not the cost!
That sauce can’t be that hot. I’ll give it a try!
That look seriously sweet!
Looking forward to the 60’s
Would love to get my hands on Hordes!! Also Inheritance is starting to look really cool
Great show, shame about the lack of Apoc, but great info on the other games, looking forward to the Hordes stuff…
Would love some hordes
another good vid
Glad to hear about inheritance, I thought it had grown a bit too quiet recently! I’m also glad I’m not the only one who thinks that Chaos war aching is a big pile of crappola. You mention that GW products are turning more toy-like – Hasbro aren’t influencing, are they?
I’d really love to get started playing Hordes!
Nice video. Sauce!!
Looking to get into Warmachine so this battle box would be perfect.
Great show as always and I’d love to win a battle box…
Filling me underwear O.o Want to see more about that 40k story, all that will be on Backstage right ?
Could always use more models, getting a much more active community where I am.
Couldn’t agree more about the GW terrain. The first ones were ace, but now they’re trying to be to outlandish. To the point where they just look stupid. Instead of having farm steads in the outskirts of towns and villages, you have temples of skulls, necromancers lairs and huge towers. Surely they’d have been destroyed, which is where the arcane ruins come in. And the new woods that they do are awful. Sorry GW I am sticking to my old fashioned woods.
Ps I also thinks it’s daft that both rivers and woods only have a one in six chance of being the normal type. I am surprised that everyone in the warhammer world doesn’t die of exposure or thirst
They should do a charity event with Justin and the sauce!
It’s just some peppers, Justin.
Really enjoyed this weekender! Thanks much!
Inheritance does look very unique and interesting – would love to hear more guys! 🙂
great vid again – love the discussion of gw model. I think that you were right on with them. Would like to see them put more realism in the bigger models. As for the warmahordes -love the box set vids. Keep it up guys. PS Justin you look funny with no goatee.
Mmmmmm. Nice new shiny HORDES Battlebox. If only, if only……
the weekender always makes me laugh
great show as always guys ..would love a copy of the battle box thanks 🙂
dam missed out on the Infinity stuff….have fun winners hope you enjoy, was thinking of getting a second faction for warmachine but a hordes one would do. Also Gav I like the Chaos engine and I’m not to sure but most kids toys don’t have that many skulls!!!! on them lol
I can see where you guys are coming from with all of the big kits lately and I don’t see an end to it in the near future. Games Workshop is in a space where they can keep making bigger and more expensive products and people keep buying them even if some gamers stop. The market hasn’t shown that their practices need to change to make money so unless a huge chunk of the community stops buying their models and such it will continue in my opinion.
Nice weekender, can’t say what I think about apocalypse, I’ll have to wait to find out as well.
Nice Weekender lads! Very pumped about the new Warmachine models and video game Kickstarter. Any reason Privateer Press is charging such high postage to the UK? Many of the KSers have been free for both the US and UK. Plus, as an old Ebayer there is no way it will cost that much to ship there unless it’s registered mail and no one sane ships that way internationally.
Congrats to all the winners!
I’m starting to think that Justin has become the “Karl Pilkington” of the group with Warren filling in Ricky’s shoes and getting Justin to try things he really doesn’t want to try. Now all we need is a series called: “A Gamer Abroad” – Justin travels to different gaming clubs while Warren issues him wild and crazy objectives to complete. lol
cool video
That is a nice starter. Legion looks boss.
See you in the next video!
B.
Nice show
Gotta love the Hordez!
Great show guys! And I have to agree with Warren about GW. I had great hope when 40K 6th ed. came out as it seemed as though they were getting back to their roots in emphasizing narrative game play over tournament play. But that seems to have gone by the wayside.
Fun guys to listen to.
Beast of War, hook me up, I need the Hordes starter, been wanting to get into this game for a bit.
And Warren, I completely understand where you’re coming from with the “cartoonification” of kits in the Warhammer and Warhammer 40k games.
2 player goodness! Thanks!
that was kind a funny XD
Games Workshop, make room for Privateer Press! That Hordes battlebox is testament to the awesomeness that is PP!
Warren, have you ever heard of German 88’s?
Your gonna love FOW Vietnam Warren. Ive been collecting both sides and have just had my 3rd game this weekend. It really is a blast. The special rules really give it that Nam flavour. Anyway another great show guys.
Justin must eat the sauce! And the Hordes Battle Box would be nice to have.
I have to agree with the direction of 40k.
On a positive note the hordes box would be a great addition!
Mmmm hoards…
BTW: nice workplace harassment. =P
With regards to the mighty GW, what I’ve been noticing is a focus on getting product out ie ever more frequent release dates. With GW becoming a public company the emphasis has switched from developing great games and great minis first and foremost to a profit driven model. I feel like many at the expense of quality. I still love most of the minis and the backstory but feel less and less like spending my hard earned money. I would really like to give some new games like Warmachine a try…..hint hint. 🙂 Love what you do, keep it up!
Another great Weekender. There’s no question that the recent large plastic kit releases have a kids toy aesthetic though I don’t think it heralds a push to drive down the age demographic as GW did that back in ’91. I think it’s more a result of the fact that GW can now make kits like this thanks to improvements in plastic production. My waning interest in WFB was mortally wounded by the DoC and WoC 8th ed releases and their awful plastic kits. The Lord of Skulls is just the latest entry in the Hall of Shame. There also seems to have been a switch in the painting philosophy in the ‘Eavy Metal team since the new range of paints was launched which only serves to make a lot of the minis look even worse.
Because the slighlty older demographic is the one on filling the internet with GW chatter it can give us the impression that we comprise GW’s market when in fact we don’t. We’re a small part of it, the bulk of their revenue is derived a younger one which doesn’t spend lots of time discussing GW online. Once you come to terms with that it’s a lot easier not to get bothered by the things GW do and to cut the ties and look elsewhere for games.
Are we at the point where we can be sure GW didn’t just underestimate the demand for Tau?
Is Pavlov’s Cat the one where you ring a bell and a cat is simultaneously alive and dead at the same time?
Will a non-live version of Turn 8 be basically The Weekender? I’m the minority that thinks The Weekender is the superior show and I’ll miss it if it goes.
Nice box of hordes love !
Very nice.. looking forward to Hordes battlebox and beyond videos.
Interesting concept re new direction for 40K
would love to win the hordes battle box – was going to put it on my list for christmas but if I could win it now then that’ll make my year 🙂
yeah i really nice to hear about the warmachine stuff I haven’t really played in ages but the kick starter look fantastic!
Haven’t played 40k or Fantasy for over a year now, my local gamers have gone off it.
I would still like to play 5th Edition as I thought they were a good set of rules. I have got a small format version of 6th Edition but have no one to play with. I have bought Apocalypse this week to basically collect the rules I want for future use. The only other 40K product I bought this year were the flyer rules. Haven’t bought any fantasy for nearly 18 months.
I certainly feel put off by some of GW’s pricing and release schedules.
Switched to playing x-wing, Uncharted Seas, Dystopian Wars, Kings of War, Warpath, Flames of War and Bolt Action over the last 18 months.
Not had time to watch BoW videos for a while but this was a great one.
Awesome Video, I would like to see some nice custom models for the Inheritors.
As someone new to the hobby, I have really been enjoying the battlebox and beyond vids so cheers!
I hate the new Khorne aching, and was gobsmacked yesterday when I saw someone dropping £200 on two of them in my local GW store.
Nice show. Good stuff as always.
Still alive! Still waiting to win ;0)
I have held off buying APOC as at £45 for a book GW taking the mick, so I will order it online from some were with discount 😀
Kinda strange, I got my Apocalypse Book on Thursday via my local Comics&Games store. And I have to say I’m both: Very impressed how GW has done this – both rules and quality wise, and a little bit confused and disappointed, ’cause they left out quiet a lot of units and formations witch were already in the last edition.
So we will see if there’s more to come in the near future. I hope so.
I Less than Three the Battle box and beyond series. It’s nice to hear about a faction before deciding if it fits your play style or you just happen to like the miniatures.
Pavlov’s dog for the win!
I want that Battle Box!!!
would kill for this battle box been dying to start playing with legion as a second hordes faction.I own almost everything circle but this would be a great way to get a friend of mine started.he can’t really afford to get an army started but that battle group might just be the key to nudge him into the game.
P.S. its my B-day tomorrow i think my wife got me the woldwrath
Always enjoy your videos 🙂
I’ve recently gotten into the whole warmachine game and I must saw that I really, really like it. I’d like to pick up that Hoards 2 player starter boxed set so I can introduce people to Hoards here in Atlantic Canada.
By the way, great job guys! I’m really enjoying watching your videos, especially the Battlebox and Beyond (or should that be Battle Group and beyond?).
I’ve eyeballed that starter set for a long time, would love to win one.
Woo 2 player box. I want you
GW’s new art style is interesting. I like that they are trying to do something different with the look of things. Spicing things up a bit. Some of the new stuff works for me others not so much. I more like what they are doing then not. The only the new model that I think they just failed is the Apoc Chaos vehicle thing.
I’m actually thinking of getting out of HORDES. If I win I’ll take it as a sign the universe wants me to continue.
I love this Starter Set.
I love these videos – except for the grief Justin gets – its kinda uncomfortable! It reminds me of Ricky Gervais in The Office mistaking being rude to people for being funny… Enough already!!
But I’d not say no to a prize 🙂
Those Circle wolves things looks pretty cool 🙂
great weekender guys its become somewhat of a ritual to sit and watch at the end of my weekend shifts at work.
All looks great guys – I always took it as Battle-Box-and-Beyond because you talk about the Armies and how the Models can be used, you show the Boxes and you go Beyond it with constant Jabs at Justin (Sympathies Mate – lol) – Looking foward to the Next Vid!
Beasts of War got me into infinity through the coverage but I’d really like to start Hordes too, fingers crossed! 🙂
I’ve been wanting to get into Warmachine.
It’s a funny thing because despite never winning these things I always enjoy commenting. not sure why. Food for thought I guess
Warren: I think you are giving GW a bit too much credit. I’d put it down to greed. I think in all likelihood they are manufacturing scenery on machines or using processes that aren’t rated for as much detail. The pay-off will be that they make sturdy kits at a cheaper price, which GW doesn’t seem to be passing on. If you look at scenery kits in general, you’ll notice they are surprisingly heavy. To me, it looks like they are using thicker walls, perhaps a thicker, stronger plastic mix. At the end of the day, by doing that they can probably outsource production easier and/or get higher yields and therefore less costs. Every time they add fine detail, it’s an extra layer of quality assurance required, and increases the number of models that get binned for being sub-standard. I’d expect that these are designed to benefit GW’s bottom line in this way.
Maybe you guys could do an unboxing for some of this kit? Compare normal sprue sizes, and the areas the sprues join the actual model and let us see how different it is. My suspicion is that the new terrain kits will have bulkier sprues, thicker components in general, a lack of small fiddly bits, and larger channels between sprue and model.
Hurrah! The new Apocalypse book is out. Now I can finally throw my old Apoc book in the garbage pile with my other ever-increasing redundant GW codices.
Never eat Hot Sauce unless you enjoy it….. People have helped themselves to my green jelly beans, realizing too late that they’re not green apple, but instead jalapeño Jelly beans….
Stu, if you think you can go 4-0 this week I have another unit and solo all painted up ready for this weeks 25pts… I was actually painting them while listening to you lot this weekend.
The journeyman leagues are a great way to try new faction/stuff out and to give yourselves achievable painting goals over the 6wks.
Such watchable vids. Warren looked a bit squirelly though, late night night before perchance? :p
I’d love to get myself into hordes. And my roomates.
Yup … I’m here for the prize 🙂
Hey what happened to Darryl? He didn’t really become a tranny escort in Amsterdam did he?
I would love a battle box to spread my love of the game to gamers here in Cyprus.
Good show
I didn’t win any Infinity prize. 🙁 I hope to be luckier here.
Make Justin drink the sauce!!!
Brilliant show as always chaps 🙂
Its time to move to paper models ;p
Maybe it’s time for me to give Warmachine a go.
bring on the Hordes and come on Justin have some chilli sauce
a hordes box, yes please
Ahhhhhhhl……Warren what are you doing to me. I need to finish what I’m doing and you’ve just talked up the Vietnam rules. I needed now excuse to do a company from the mighty 4th battalion Royal Australian Regiment with a bit of support from those magnificent looking Centurion models.
Any way to turn Warren off in these videos?
Yup… click on a link that takes you elsewhere 😉
Wish there would be more Hordes videos in the future, that’d be awesome! 😀 also, my two favorite Hordes factions in the same two player set? do want!
I personally would like to see more 40k vids, I am back to it and there is so much going on now. As BOW is my favourite hobby channel, I would like to not to go anywhere else… but I do more often… great work anyway guys 🙂
A win would be nice!
@warzan
As per this link, it looks like the new fortifications don’t even come on sprues, as per my earlier comment this seems to support a new fabrication process probably to reduce cost. And this probably reduces the detail they can get, and therefore they designed for these new constraints.

Free models, I’d love to get free models. Would allow me to get a mate into it too.
i love to see turn 8 back!!!!!!!!
lovin the weekender keep it up Bow
the inheritance thing sounds interesting but it has set my fluff alert senses off e.g. i believe GW used to drop heavy hints the tyranids are running from a C’tan named The Outsider and theres been some hints about the lost primarchs over the years including a brief mention in the recent horus heresy books… hmmm still it’ll be nice to see the story move on somewhere 🙂
with the terrain i adore the bunkers and think plain suits them as there fortifications rather than buildings… but totally get what stuart was saying and i’m tempted if i get a set to carve on battle damage.
the warmachine tactics kickstarter is something i’m chuffed about 🙂 cant wait to get my hands on that game and the models… paticuarly the ret one don’t play them (yet) but it looks stunning
and i wouldn’t mind expanding my legion and werewoldves are always cool 😉
I completely agree with Warren about the look of the Chaos Engines.
nice, i want that!
For The Hordes 🙂
Good weekender guys.
Watching the vid, it’s easy to see which games people favour. Poor Justin…you could have spent 20 mins pinging peanuts off his noggin’ while you were discussing the 40k and inheritance. At one point I thought he’d fallen asleep.
As soon as you switched to Warmachine…booyah…Justin’s all over it and Warren is staring at his paper. LOL
Stu clearly likes and plays it all.
I dunno whats in the Hordes battlebox, but I just wanna paint some of the big gribblies.
Journeyman league sounds like great fun and a good way to get motivated to do some painting. Shame that I don’t live closer.
Great Stuff
how do you find out if you won or not
