June 13, 2020 by brennon

The Warhammer 40,000 preview for this weekend has been showing off the Games Workshop miniatures available within the new Launch Box (Note: Not A Starter Set) for those who want to dive into the Sci-Fi wargaming of the grimdark far future. This box is called Indomintus and is packed with miniatures.

This set has been designed not as a Starter Set (it doesn't come with dice, measuring devices etc) but as a Launch Box to celebrate the release of the new edition sometime in July. The set contains two massive armies of Primaris Space Marines and Necrons and it does also include the new 9th Edition Core Rulebook which we'll look at later.

Regardless of all of that; I think that everyone just wants to see the models right? We'll just run through and include the names of them all as there are a lot of miniatures...

So, that gives you a little bit of an insight into all of the miniatures for the Space Marine side of things, especially when it comes to looking at the way that the Primaris Space Marines are filling the gaps in their armoury. They have started to introduce a lot of elements here which replace the older Space Marines. Whilst they still have a place within the world of Warhammer 40,000, it's hard to not consider just making an entire army of Space Marines in their new armour.

New Necron Miniatures // Warhammer 40,000

As well as the miniatures for the Space Marines, we've also got their enemies. The Necrons are looking perhaps better than the Space Marines by a country mile and I could see a lot of people starting up armies of the newly awoken and those who are tireless in their eradication of the inferior.

Necron Warriors

There are some rather fascinating looking miniatures in the collection for the Necrons. I love the new design of them and I like the fact that they have seriously been beefed up. The basic Warriors are looking awesome, especially with their battered and broken look, but I think the new characters and some of the monstrous beasts with their many legs are rather sniffing indeed.

Warhammer 40,000 Core Rules & More

As well as including the new miniatures in this Launch Box you'll also get this full-art version of the Core Rules for Warhammer 40,000.

Warhammer 40,000 Core Book (Indomitus Edition)

I would imagine that this is going to be included as part of Indomitus itself and you'll see a different Core Rules book for you to snap up later on. I am fascinated to see how they break things down to do their specific Starter Set further down the line.

The Edge Of Silence

The Edge Of Silence - Warhammer 40K

As well as the main book, you'll also have The Edge Of Silence which "includes all the lore around which the Indomitus box is based. In it, the harrowing nature of the Pariah Nexus is revealed, and the narrative stage is set for what will become a crucial new war zone as the horrifying magnitude of the Necron threat is unveiled." This sounds like a lot of fun to dive into.

Beyond Indomitus // More Warhammer 40,000

But wait, there's more! Games Workshop also revealed four more miniature kits which are going to be following the release of Indomitus.
