As the last of our unboxings Warren and Gareth sit down to have a look at some of the terrain you'll be using in your games of Flames of War Vietnam!

Loving this scenery, the table was so cool in this weeks shows.
Loved the paddy, and the field, but the houses are the weakest IMHO
Individually they’re not much but there are 6 or 8 on the demo table used this week and I reckon they look pretty decent. IMO of course.
The huts are nice but the rice fields could be replaced by some corrigated card and a little light painting.
Very cool boxes of terrain, and I agree that the table was really cool too.
Blimey, look at the shag pile carpet in that first pic!
Bit swanky for peasant farmers I would of thought.

On the other hand the pile of the carpet looks thick enough to hide a cache of AK47s

Which is correct. You don’t want to cross a farmer’s wife who has just vacuumed and is now about to kill a chicken and therefore holding a BIG knife.
I admit on their own the buildings and patties are a bit meh but they really pulled the scenery together in the demo games.
When Warren brought up that the huts would work well in the Pacific theater in WWII Flames of War, it’s exactly what I was thinking.
well we use the eastern front buildings here so i knew such “huts”, i have to confess there maybe better options, but the amount of time you can spare is a good deal. Instead of building and painting a “russian” “vietnamese” village you get some boxes and put them on the table. i think its a godd deal for people like me, who have to much to paint 😉
A great way to get the feel for Nam just need some jungle, long grass, hills and your away. The gaming board for the week was great to.
Not forgetting urban scenery for the Tet Offensive 😉
The FoW terrain boxes are great! I have a collection of them for my WW2 games.
Some sand bag bunkers and gun emplacements would be cool so you can make a American Fire Base.
What’s in the box ? A: huts and paddy fields. God the quiz has been so easy this week.
Am looking forward to the ones that will be made for the FoW WW2 Italian Campaign.

I do like the BB scenery. It’s not the greatest but you can do any better for pre-painted terrain for a reasonable price.

I have a large number of their WWII buildings and they’re nice quality. I’m sure these are just as good.
For being as simple as these are, they look really great on the tabletop. Funny how a subtle bit of thematically-appropriate terrain can make such a world of difference.

Nice terrain. But, again, needs more trees…
Agreed that they aren’t the most inspiring looking of terrain pieces, but the fact that you can take them out of the box prepainted, and use right away is such a huge plus for me
The terrain is not mindblowing indeed, but come prepainted and are all very sturdy. Good quality overall and reasonably priced. And let’s be honest: Vietnam is not about the hooches, but trees, trees trees and paddyfields.
Trees you can find everywhere, even some palmtrees. Paddyfields you better make yourselves or take a look at the paddyfields used on the ‘What would Patton do’ site.
I always felt, that Battlefront terrain is quite expensive. And I still do. But: As I brought myself around to buy some I recognized how much use you get out of it and how practical it is. You use it in like every battle (not like those 10 Kingtigers you bought, they see light what? once a year?). It looks really good. And it fits the FoW bases, so puttin guys in and out of buildings is no pain at all.
If I had 10 Kingtigers it would be the only ~4000 points I would ever play. 😀
Good looking terrain, the price does concern me though. Gaming on a budget does make you think about the cost (and winning free stuff! 🙂 ).
This is great terrain – especially as it is pre-painted and could be used for WW2 pacific.
I’m not quite sold on the terrain pieces. They certainly look nice and can save you a bit of work. (But that’s part of the fun, isn’t it?)
However I feel you can easily make some yourself with a few pieces of cardboard and some spare time.
Haven’t seen a single Vietnam set I didn’t like!
No fan of prepainted terrain, but this looks good enough.
may not be mind blowing, but great if you’re starting out I suppose few bits and pieces on a jungle board, then just like anything else, once you invest more time in it you already have a core collection of scenery pieces to do what you like, build Hue with its city walls, urban buildings, build a firebase, build Saigon with its embassies – for the price and quality at least I’m liking em, be nice to see what else they come up with as (fingers crossed) FoW grows…

Best theme week yet guys. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. Especially nice touch with the music. And i liked the multiple unboxings spread over the week.
I’m going on a copy+paste mission now to maybe win an army. If not, i’ll be buying one anyway.-
As I think someone else said they look nice but I’m sure one side of corrugated card would paint up nicely to look like paddy fields.
I quite like them, saves me having to make them as i have enough trouble catching up with other stuff

Those huts would add so much to game
I am a big fan of making my own terrain but who has the time. The pre-painted stuff looks good but as above, the price point is a concern.
But then again you pay for the convenience.
I like the pre made terrains because unlike warren im not really talented at terrain making and i can just barely get my minis to a tabletop level
