Progress Update With Doug

We're now catching up with Doug to see how his day has been going as he tinkers away on more of his project.

The light blue is a great choice and really serves to create a fascinating looking set of soldiers which will pop on the tabletop.

What do you think?

Curious how the cavalry will turn out in the end.

karakhanid

Somebody has been watching Sorostro’s tutorial, good job.

swbeil

Doug nicely done. Like the idea of using the same colors for the entire army including the golem.

reiton

want to see the bases done 😉 just cant see past the light blue bases 😉

rfernandz2001

Like the Wolf Grey armor, Great army-unifying color, In my opinion, since the grey allows the other detail colors to be more noticeable.

m30wm1x

Really nice to see such a variety of colours across the room. Should make for a great mass battle tommorow.

cursethesemetalhands

Agreed. I don’t think I’ve seen a duplicate paint scheme yet. There are clearly some favored colors, but each army looks unique.

lightsout1985

Liking that grey wolf armor primer a lot.

wesadie1969

Always interested to see more dipping.

petey9

I think that golem looks like a really cool guy to paint

proseferon

wolf grey is one of the nicest colors ever made. love it

happyhowler

Nice work with the lighting effect Doug! Keep up the good work.

teage

I like how he is using the same color across the army to tie them together. I look forward to the finished set.

nyilus27

Really nice and the light blue colour seems to be really working well. Never tried source lighting, but it looks amazing.

tmsmnns

Not sure on the red shoulder pads, but that bue-grey color looks amazing!

shamanatdawn

REALLY like that scheme!

wendren

once dipped they’ll look different

lawnor

I love those shoulder pads

querion

interesting color choice, i like how it looks. And the shoulder armor on the golem is a nice contrast and looks great.

fancybearzod

The pale colors is a choice I don’t think I make enough, very nice scheme for the force.

aurorainbag

Kinda like the more light tones of this army compared to some of the more vibrant colors of the others. Looking forward to seeing it after the dip.

chosenman44

The AP blues are rocking.

mc1gamer

Please show the dip and flicks!

astralwraith

I’d like to see how the lighting effect works out

normandyfan

Well done Doug

severon

the light effect on the golem looks great. I myself am not too sure about wolf grey as the main plate coulor.

jodain

The grey is an interesting choice, it allows to Gollem to be in stone and tie in with the rest of the army. Really need to ensure some colour allows the minis to pop I think.

zeker1966

Good stuff. A nice relaxing weekend of hobby.

cbrenner

Really nice and different color scheme.

tibour

Love the wolf grey primer!

snowyak

Cool looking army, love the lighter colours too.
The Golem looks suberb with the OSL from the runes, must be inspired by Master Sorastro’s video 😉 Love to see it finished.

brand

I like the color choice.

badula

Oh nice golem

panzertanker64

Nice golem.

tmon

Dip and flick??

johan

I am distracted by all the blue (and red and grey) spray painted bases. The models do not pop enough. I would be tempted to do a quick brown or green layer on the base to get a sense on how the model would look like when completed.

ghent99

I like the rune lighting effect.

outriderhobbies

Nice job Doug!

gobbo

I like the colors! Still deciding on a scheme.

shalinor

Really liking his lighting

teddymademedoit

Doug mate that looks awesome!! That golem is one of my favourites for sure, really starting to envy all the hobby going on as I have none of my own, looks like you guys are making the most of this for sure and it’s great to see

dsrrichter

Nice work Doug.

julianb

Nice scheme, I like the armor in the wolf grey and more subdued tones is a nice contrast to some of the other schemes we have seen so far.

phoenixman

Nice work Doug

bytenshi

Go Team Pale Blue!

faba

want to see the finisher model with the lightning effect 🙂

akire

nice paints!!! I love the hobby weekend, I love you 😀

demonsbane99

nice colours.

while

Lighting effects always look so good. Time to try it myself I think!

mbdeyes

Yeah. This army’s a little more subtle. I like it.

smitty14

Pretty cool looking paint scheme. Good job.

bobmoor

Yep agree the colour scheme looks good

kamaron

The color is very nice, and everybody sure looks like having a blast!

zorg

looks good.

carabus

Nice effects, keep it up.

agashamirv

Nice.

longshotte

The dip and flick will really add a new level. Come back with some highlights and they will look great!

radegast6

Dip it Dough! nice to see your smiled face again Mate.

lupa15

Great looking army Doug!

masterdwalin

Good choice of colours!

rgreenparadox

I love the rune effect he is going for.

dervan

The golem with a good glow effect would really standout

dissidentaos

Another great army coming together…

otakugirl

awesome!

kaoswarrior

Looking forward to seeing that glow effect.

crazycabo

Lots o blue

beetle

Cheers on the pale paint scheme. So many people want to go bold and bright, ala early days of GW, but it is good to see alternatives used, especially to use paints you’ve been looking forward to, but needed the reason to.
