Salute Setup Time-lapse

We got down to Salute yesterday and wanted to show off a bit of the hustle and bustle from the folks setting up. The hall is MASSIVE and the vendors are putting together some great looking booths and tables.

How many of you will be coming to Salute for the first time?

Just leaving home now, looking forward to a great day.

jocke

I´ve like to come… but sitting here in germany, no flight I can afford… damn

naff101

Yep first time for me

severon

I never went to Salute. Every year at Crysis Antwerp I promise the guys from South London Wargames I would show up and every year I fail. Crysis is my local one day event and I am going to UKGE this year, so no time and money left for Salute.

torros

Crisis is still on my bucket list to combine with a holiday in Bruges. Wouldn’t mind going to some of the Italian shows as well just to see what there like

severon

How many hours does the time lapse cover?

spacefrog

These videos are always a fun part of the salute coverage

shalinor

Hell of a job

feanar

The amount of work is truly impressive, have you used the go pro for this?

beetle

I’ve done setup/teardown for non-gaming conventions. When setting up, you want everything in the right place, the displays to catch the lights, good walking path. At teardown, you want everything to fit into the truck with expedience. Usually a mess to clean up later.

mckarok

I love these time lapse videos!

panzerkaput

Its always amazing to see how organised these fellas are and just how quick they can set up

cheezfriend

That’s massive

dane001

Masssively jealous of you guys on this one, very excited to see some of the content!!

golonka

Wow, really cool vid!

khy0te

Not sure why but I love time-lapse videos. To a possibly unhealthy degree.

caledor2

It is always fun to see the set-up in fast speed.

carabus

So much work to set up done that a few times. Would be good to see a highspeed all day TBH

peas20

I’m in the U.S. so I probably won’t ever get to Salute, but I hope to go to Adepticon sometime in the near future.

cbrenner

Busy, busy bees!

gazky

That was cool.

someprick

Class would be cool to see the whole thing in time lapse from set up to tare down

sanhorfra

Is Salute bigger than Adepticon?

biofuel

would love to go, but its long flight from Australia. maybe one day.

cybermonkey

Brilliant, Does make me sadder that I’m not there today though :'(

apeman

never been …..maybe next year

lawnor

Watching that makes we wonder when they are releasing Sim Salute / Salute Simulator 2017.

chosenman44

Awesome.

macadams00

I don’t envy these guys that looks like a lot of work

badgobo

Cool.video

shimond

always nice this video 🙂

sayntofsynners

Time Lapses are KEWL !!!!

swbeil

Time-lapse is always cool. It’s always neat to watch how everything goes together.

tookeywhy

that is so cool to see, how long is it in real time?

kaoswarrior

have fun – Wish I could have been there!

rayzryr

Always love these time-lapse videos. Is this the 2nd or 3rd I’ve seen? One day I might see it in person!

emptynessisform

expertly done, fine choice of music. something emotional about these time lapses when done well.

mrtn

Would love to go one of these years.

wulveroffenris

now if I can just get an army of guys in to sort my garden out for a time lapse video.. but that’s an entirely different problem and not gaming related in the slightest..

warhound67

Massive undertaking

lordbob

If I ever go, that would need to be part of a bigger trip to the UK. Canada is quite far for a one day trip.

duster

Great vid, thanks for sharing it.

m30wm1x

Goes to show how much work is behind a show like this.

tachycardia

Nice to watch other people work.

andre77

Wish i was there. But we had tabletop fleamarket 😉

attilla13

Always amazing that no one gets hit with all of that activity

lblunchboxlb

They must all be on some real strong coffee to move that fast!

tomrr

Think able all the preparation required before these companies even arrive!!

redsarge

It feels like it has only been a couple months since I have seen the last one, even though it’s been a year… wow time flies.

nsogre

I will only get to see Salute through you guys being from the US. It seems amazing to me that they do all that work for 1 day.

dammitprawn

All for 1 day? Madness!

sathrin

With a few more energy drinks that could be in real time

barretem30

That makes it look alot easier than I’m sure it was.

nyilus27

Really great day, although I do wish I had saved up more money since there were so many really nice things to get and had to limit myself.

panzertanker64

Very cool seeing this

khiasharisse

Almost makes me want to move to England so I can attend events like this. Almost

eddieharr

I still dont understand why they only do one day of this. In the States they are at least 3 days.

volkbane

Wish I could have made it but it is so very far away!

kevlin

Love time lapses, all that hobby goodness growing before my eyes.

bloodshadow

That’s crazy

rgreenparadox

amazing how much effort it takes to set up an event, and not even the biggest event, like a gencon or adepticon.

machinegod

Never been…Want too….Better prioritize this than going to boardgame event in Essen!

uptrebor

Shame I missed this year, maybe next year

eddator227

nice, hope someday can visit some boths

gambit505

Got to love a good time lapse. We were setting up middle back, hidden by one truck or another for the whole video! Oh well. :p

kamaron

Very nice video, it’s always fun to see a time lapse :^D

fireblarney

Quite impressive seeing it slowly grow over the course of the video

spryte

Always amazes me how quickly people get their booths set up at a trade show

somegeezer

Tempted to watch again, muted, with Yakkety Sax playing in another tab 🙂

minigiant

I will be damned if I was in control of logistics

sunabe

Hopefully can make it over one day

longshotte

Here in the U.S. we get to see all these great cons you guys have over there. Wish we were closer to them. Just curious how our cons actually compare.

julianb

That is always so interesting to see it grow from nothing to the full setup. Cool.

jamesrosei

Love the time-lapse.

zeker1966

Nice time lapse. I like seeing these.

masmalcor

I always wanted to help set up some of these events

crazycabo

So much work goes into setting up a convention of this size. Watching last year’s GenCon vendor coverage displays an insane amount of setup effort.

hmelrose

w00t!

andyd

So much work for one day. Go on Warlords make it two days!

aurorainbag

That was fun to watch. Hope to be at one some day in the future

skeld1980

Nice time-lapse, very jealous

otakugirl

Pretty stuff!

baranora

It was fun!
