Yeah, unsure on the cards. Like the current live vlog it does seem to make it seem complicated!

tchrin

We were just discussing this on twitch 🙂 It does seem a little complicated, but I get the impression that a lot of the rules are the type that once you actually use them they make a lot more sense than when just read.

while

Reading the rules, it’s complicated. Playing a game, using a premade deck, then making your own is super easy and intuitive! Just hard choices of what tonput in!

furios

the deck wiil be a good way to personnalize the band from same faction.

wodenmhc

Agreed – I think this is a great way to add depth. 4Ground could keep the number of starting factions low, but card choice, combined with such variety available in warband and leader creation means games can be quite varied.

chaoshead87

Does it seem to add a level of complexity that is not needed or does it just bring more variation and unseen tactics? Will be interesting to see in more games.

macro

Do you build a deck of cards for your band with no restrictions?

bors77

Only certain factions can use certain fighting schools and while certain magika cards are general others are reserved for each element or a combo of element.

swbeil

The deck building aspect is completely new to the game for me and makes it a very interesting point.

golonka

Nice concept, will be interesting to see more of the decks in action. It seems to be able to change things up quite a lot, even with the same minis.

kantor72

I don’t like the idea of tailoring a deck towards an opponent, too much competitive meta thinking involved in that. It’s all about building a fluffy / narrative deck around who i have in the Warband for me 😀 .

antiphony

The cards sound complicated, maybe after a few games they will begin to make sense.

I spent all of Friday evening printing out the resources from the Beta Pack including printing and cutting out the cards.

The card art is beautiful and I love it. However, I found it VERY difficult to read.

I took some of the cards and using Photoshop creating Tarot sized cards and they were much easier to read. I know the size they use is to maximize the number of cards you can print on a sheet but with the graphic and title taking up 50% of the current sized cards it leaves very little for the text. Not sure if you turned the card to landscape if you get better space for layout. For me, I found the text too small and difficult to read and I can see myself missing rules during play or taking a long time between turns to review my cards.

IMHO, there is a lot going on in those cards and it makes them difficult to read. That is my opinion anyway.

dane001

I lkve the card system, it really does seem add that cinematic narrative moment to the games. I cant wait to get hold of them to see what works well and what they can really add to the tabletop

caledor2

Nice that you have the option to switch the cards between games.

beetle

OK, I can understand deck building, but drafting?

aermord

For someone who are in this mainly because of the game (and not painting the minis) I really appreciate what the cards add to the game.

chosenman44

The options are just endless.

lordbob

I’ll reserve my judgement on the cards for when i’ve seen them in action a little more.

petey9

Like some others have said, I haven’t done much deck-building sort of games. This is new to me. I’m not against it. But I hope that it is approachable and helps speed and simplify the game rather than make it more cumbersome.

wolf320f

cards a handy reminder for us old folk

collins

the artwork is fab but I agree with the above, can a different font be used for the bulk text? might make it easier to skim read in game faster

snowyak

The art on these cards is looking so great.
Well done Jared.

mc1gamer

Nice job on those cards too

dervan

Its an interesting element the cards add, strategy in terms of deck building and they can create heroic moments during the game

samknight

Really cool cards! And they are really good looking also! Love the visual layout and illustrations for Fabled Realms!

spud75

Wow, Is Ben turning into a dwarf before our eyes?

normandyfan

interesting

stormshriek

the card play sounds cool. I play malifaux and it uses cards for customization. I enjoy systems like this. Though I will say some of the cards seem a bit wordy.

rgreenparadox

Sounds like the cards can really change up a unit.

basilbrush

once i read the beta stuff maybe this will make more sense

paragon

So if I know who my opponent is before hand, can I use this to tailor my warband before hand? I.E. do I arrange for a battle and then deck build or do I deck build and then find an opponent?

lawnor

The cards are an interesting extra layer to the games.

fireblarney

Great idea, gives you even more flexibility during a campaign.

eddieharr

I didnt even know this aspect was going to be in game. Cool

hargarpad

This was great!
