Andy is one of the best painters out there and gets the job done on all manner of miniatures, both great and small. So, Sam sat in with him to talk about painting the massive Terror that you can get for Fabled Realms.
How would you approach this mighty beast?

I agree that 3D printing will be the future. You download the models, customize them to your own liking and print them.
Wish I had the skills to paint half as well as this, scenery and terrain I don’t have a problem with, but minis are not my specialty.
Always carry a pack lunch.
Also nice product placement with the Pot Noodle and the Celebrations.
It is always handy to carry a snack around.
So the 3d Prints themselves seem a success, so the question is whether this is easily scalable and whether this pushes the price up.
That is a really nice finish on the model, as Andy says, the better the quality, the easier it is to paint.
I really do love that model, I can’t wait for mine to turn up!! I’m definitely getting more and more excited about this game.

I really like the hand options for that mini. You can get a very different look, without adding a ton of cost.
Ideal for washes and not to much fidley details as in some other models companies.

Yes, I love the idea that he carry bodies around using them as weapon and shield, and of course a little bite now and then
I’m really keen to see how 4ground manage scaling the 3d printing to a full production setup. It can be done – Prusa print all their own printers – fingers crossed!
I dont understand people who go to these events and then spend all their time painting. I love painting but you can do that any time. Its a solo activity. Play more games.

If you enjoy painting you should actually try out doing this with some likeminded folks as a group activity. Beats solo painting by a country mile!!

How would I take on that beast?
Ideally I’d try to one-strike dead it. So I’d choose a wizard that can bast it’s brains. 😀
Otherwise lure it into a spiked pit and smash stuff on top – like rock boulders and fire bombs…
