Cubicle 7 has recently been showing off what is coming for Age Of Sigmar: Soulbound, their recently released roleplaying game set in the Mortal Realms (check out the Core Rules PDF). There is a Starter Set and loads of little adventures on the way.

Soulbound Starter Set May - Cubicle 7

We had an interview with the team behind the game, discussing the Starter Set and what it offers to people who are diving into this rather immense roleplaying experience. You'll take on the role of a band of adventurers who are trying to work out what is happening beneath the surface as Chaos seeks to undermine the forces of Order.

Adventures Await

As well as the Starter Set, there are also plenty of smaller adventures being released. First up, we have Crash & Burn.

"The adventure sees the party set out from Hammerhal Aqsha aboard an Arkanaut Frigate bound for the city of Brightspear in Apsira. Unfortunately, even travelling thousands of feet above ground doesn’t keep you safe from the horrors of the Mortal Realms…"

Next, there is also a much bigger campaign which is called Shadows In The Mist.

"A mysterious organisation known as the Blackscale Coil has a stranglehold on the city of Anvilgard, and the Soulbound have been sent to investigate. But the Coil is not all they have to worry about, as there is an even greater rot lurking in the mist…"

Crash & Burn is coming out very soon whilst Shadows In The Mist is going to be dropping later this year (around Q3).

There is already a lot of optional bits and bobs dropping for Age Of Sigmar: Soulbound which will give you some interesting ways to go beyond the bounds of the Starter Set or your first Core Rules adventures. With those adventures coming, there are also some neat supplements for those wanting to detail their characters a bit more.

  • Champions Of Order - As well as new Archetypes, Champions of Order contains rules for Stormhosts, Fyreslayer Lodges, Glades, and other subfactions. The book also has new Talents, Miracles, spells, and Endeavours
  • Horrors Of The Mortal Realms - Featuring bone-chilling undead hordes, powerful daemons, and corrupted Slaves to Darkness, Horrors of the Mortal Realms is an invaluable companion to the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound corebook
  • Steam & Steel - The book includes new rules and Endeavours for crafting, new aetheric devices and contraptions for the Kharadron Overlords, and more Fyreslayer Runes. The book also contains rules for vehicles such as Corsair wolf-ships, and Arkanaut Frigates
  • Artefacts Of Power - Ancient magical artefacts and dozens of powerful new spells — including terrifying Endless Spells

There is quite a lot for you to look forward to. I am particularly drawn to the Champions Of Order and Horrors Of The Mortal Realms supplements; I think they are the kind of core books you need to add a little more here and there when adventuring.

Will you be checking out these new books?
