December 19, 2025 by brennon
Battlefront Miniatures previewed what's ahead for Flames of War, World War III and even a few more periods of warfare. You can check out the video below and a breakdown of some of the reveals here.
Battlefront Miniatures - 2026 Update
Watch along and see what Battlefront has in store for many of their games as well as what's on the horizon for Gale Force Nine. We're going to be focusing particularly on Battlefront here, though and their familiar games like Flames of War and World War III.
Flames Of War - Early War
Here's what's coming for Early War throughout the next year or so.
Early War Release Timeline // Flames Of War
Maginot Line // Flames of War
Dunkirk // Flames of War
Early War Starter Forces // Flames of War
Barbarossa // Flames of War
Some great options for those looking to dive into this period, which isn't routinely played on the tabletop. What do you think?
Flames of War - Mid-Late War
There is also more to come for the Mid and Late War period of Flames of War via Battlefront Miniatures.
New Soviet & American Army Deals // Flames of War
Liberation of Italy // Flames of War
Armoured Trains // Flames of War
Battlefield in a Box - Italy // Flames of War
Hermann Goring // Flames of War
Gebirgsjager // Flames of War
Goums // Flames of War
Some impressive new campaigns and a return to a lot of classic miniature ranges. Could this be a period of World War II that you'll be diving into?
World War III - Checkpoint Charlie & Team Yankee
Looking towards the period of the 1960s through to the 1980s, there is a lot for the Cold War Gone Hot.
Checkpoint Charlie Rulebook // World War III
Armies // World War III: Checkpoint Charlie
Classified Book // World War III: Team Yankee
British Hard Plastic Infantry // World War III: Team Yankee
...and as if that wasn't enough, Battlefront Miniatures also had a look at something entirely different from their normal wargaming fodder with a turn towards the age of black powder and strife around the world.
Volley & Charge
Dive into the likes of the American Civil War but with a Flames of War-esque mechanical twist.
Volley & Charge // American Civil War
Volley & Charge Rules // Battlefront Miniatures
As you can see, Battlefront are also looking to explore different time periods like the Crimean War, Samurai Wars, American Indian Wars and the Franco-Prussian War. Something for everyone it seems. What do you make of what Battlefront Miniatures has planned for 2026 and beyond?

Battlefront expanding their disappointing rules to new periods, damn.
Churn and churn again; FoW do it better than GW. It’s impossible to keep up!
I do like the Goumiers, though, and the modern Canadians. Apart from not having a Kiowa recce chopper, the Canadians are almost correct.
“almost correct” for TY is the equivalent of “shockingly accurate with groundbreaking historical research” for any other ruleset, but with Battlefront, you have to take what you can… Which is buying the minis to use with other games [if you hate 3D printing].
Goumiers and trains and such are great (re?)releases, after they killed everything that isn’t a major power tank for 4E (or was it 3E) release. WW2 coverage needs more Units That Never Appeared In A Major Hollywood Major Picture Or Nazi Memoir.
Loo i like them new Brits. That’s a nice surprise. The early WW2 looks pretty nice too 👍
I wonder if it will be Falklands based, which would be good, or team yankee campaign akin to the Soviet air assault book. Maybe a campaign focusing on the north German plain. I think in the old red storm rising novel it was the town of alfeld with the Soviets storming the pivot between allied sectors. I seem to remember a pick up team of Brits, Belgium’s and West Germans defending and a chieften of challenger holding the bridge like horitiaus. I’m assuming but I’m sure a Falklands campaign would work but given the Soviet invasion of America id expect another narrative campaign based around that world…..but then I shouldn’t expect I’m sure it will be fun – a Reforger campaign to relieve norway? There I go again….
@ands Canada was also in Germany at that time, literally ALL our Leopards were overseas except for training reserves! 4CMBG was for its time a solid force.
Well pointed out, the Canadians never seem to get the respect they deserve on unstinting overseas commitment, all gratitude and thanks to them 👍
Sorry, recognition they deserve is likely more appropriate, I have no doubt Canadian armed forces have always been respected 👍
@ands – there is a reputation that although we are a small country, and a small armed force, we are horrifically ferocious 😁
There is a book that was part of officer training that covered a typical Cold War breakout, called First Clash (Kenneth Macksey); if you can find a copy it is well worth the read!
Also, this is a good reference page:

I have a vast resource of my own, on my laptop; I was an armoured recce officer for a time.
That’s a lovely surprise thank you, really appreciate that, will look forward to having a good peruse. Thanks again and a very merry season to you and yours and a even better 2026 ahead ⛄👍
All very interesting but unless they can do something to improve distribution it will be problematic. There stuff is already always out of stock and hard to get so how having such significant release schedules are pointless if nothing can be brought …
Hopefully their new factory can change this 🤞
@aea007 you’re not wrong – if you don’t buy it like really fast, it’s gone until the next churn and burn.
