My first Salute today. It was awesome. But tiring. Hope you’re all well oiled by now. Don’t think I could manage a big night out after all the walking today. All the stalls and demo games were excellent. Lots of effort put in by all involved. One of the high lights for me was seeing a magnetic gaming mat to hang on the wall and magnetised X-Wing minis. Genius! I think it was by Deepcut but please forgive me if I’m wrong.
I hope you got to check out Spectre miniatures, not only did they give me a hesitant June for their new rules set, as well as hint at Mexican drug Cartels (What I really want to do), I also suggested they purchased the TTcombat giant tower would be great for modern combat, which they agreed and then purchased one!
That TTcombat giant tower was great and was probably the only shiny syndrome that didnt break me. So many games you could play in it
Modern combat, Walking Dead, Infinity, Zone Moralis, Batman. One day that tower will be mine
great job BoW team. Need to get yourselves a drone next year so you can zoom about above the crowds and find those hidden gems.

Great job you lot covering so much, so much shiny I’m wearing sunnies! Only downside is seeing so much awesome and not having even remotely comparable in NZ. One day…one day…
This year we at Irregular Magazine decided to cover the show in a different way, and so came up with the idea of doing videos which we can link to in articles. What we weren’t prepared for was trying to get around the show and cover as much as possible. You suddenly realise how much of a mammoth task it is. Looking at the videos on here and images on other blog sites how much we missed. After the show I realised we hadn’t stopped by Warlord or Mantic for starters, but it’s not just the traders but the actual gaming tables as well.
I appreciate more the coverage you guys at Beasts manage to pull off in just the one day.
@warhammergrimace you hit the nail on the head with “mammoth task”. It’s non-stop all day. Still a blast though 🙂
Great coverage folks, really enjoyed watching the vlogs. So much so I sat up to the wee hours here in Perth Western Australia watching and didnt get up until lunch time. Best sleep ever. lol
Well for me incomplete without Freebooters Fate.
There were some really nice gaming tables for Freebooters fate. I’m sure they will have got them in somewhere. Hopefully to follow soon. One of the tables was set in something similar to a mangrove.

Thank you for all your coverage. I was there and you still highlighted a ton of stuff I missed. It was great to meet Warren and Lloyd. I’ll definitely be signing up as a backstager again, if for no other reason than you are a great team of people. You’ve made my gaming and hobby time richer and better informed and I can’t imagine a weekend without me tuning in to catch my latest dose of gaming fun. My son Andrew said that I walked a foot taller with a bigger smile after meeting you guys and I must say it did make my day. I got to shake Ronnie from Mantic hand and ask him about the walking dead Kickstarter as well. (another patient and nice guy) I got to speak with Alessio Cavatore at the Warlord Tank Wars demo table and chuckled about the contrast from war games to my little pony. Thank you again and hopefully see you next year at Salute 2017
