They won’t provide a spike but that’s why I think it’s interesting. Videogames companies have moved away from the “big” expanions to much smaller but more frequent DLC. DLC is just another way of delivering expansions on a base game, and they won’t generate anything like the revenue the release of the base game does. I’m guessing at some point there’ll be a Total War: Warhammer 2, which will have the potential of spiking revenues by a similar amount.
