Finally we’ve got a look at the finished buildings that will make up the start of the Karag-Haim (Fabled Realms) and Grimmstack (Steampunk) ranges from 4Ground! These will be available from August 12th to everyone but will be on advanced sale at Gen Con. The Dreozende of Karag-Haim range is kicking off with a selection of different buildings which are […] -

Games Workshop have popped up a new teaser for this weekend as Codex Adeptus Astartes: Deathwatch is on the cards for Warhammer 40,000 . If you like slaughtering xenos with a crack team of Space Marines this could be the force for you. It will be interesting to see how they work as a faction on the tabletop. […] -

It seems like we really are living in the late 90’s and early 2000’s as Time Commanders is going to be returning to TV thanks to a shout out from the BBC asking for teams to apply . If you don’t know what Time Commanders is you can watch one of my favourite episodes of it above. See if […] -

I’ve improved my ice base process to give a more frosty finish
Thanks for the great feedback on the ice base everyone… I’ve had a lot of other people on Facebook ask if I’ll put a guide together on how I made it. So, after I’ve finished this mini I’ll put something together and share […] -

Those minis look very static to me; considering how much ‘running down corridors’ there is in DW you’d have thought that they’d have gone for something more dynamic (okay, there’s not actually as much running down corridors as jokes make out, but still you’d expect something more lively; eg Ten just looks like he’s standing […]

They are pretty terrible, (although martha’s sculpt isnt too bad)…. unless they are supposed to be auton versions of them!!!! (i know they are not but it makes them slightly less disappointing if they were), lets hope they do a better job on the main attraction (well for me) being the baddies, be pretty hard […]

1. What is it that get’s you fired up to field your army or pick up the glue, file, paint and brushes? Are there any tip’s that you use that you can pass on that helps to motivate someone else’s flagging momentum? (Other than a big stick.) I don’t get to game that often so […]

So Sunday I had the day to myself and got a mate over to play some Infinity. He’s just starting with wargaming and was a little apprehensive about painting so I offered to give a painting tutorial. We went through base coating, washes, dry brushing and a little bit of layering and glzing. We just […]

It’s currently £13.99 for a DLC campaign on Steam, there’s two available and I think the intention is to cover each race and make them playable. Surely GW just get their usual percentage, which in terms of price is just over 25% of the original RRP of the game? Again not saying revenue from DLC […]

quoting myself from when these were shown on the weekender: Those Doctor Who miniatures are probably the most disappointed I have ever been in this hobby. My two favourite things in life are miniature wargaming and Doctor Who (I even sport a seal of Rassilon tattoo). Ive been waiting years for decent ‘official’ sculpts and […]

I wasn’t just referring to large expansions, I mean expansions of any size. Going back to Imperial Assault, that game releases big box expansions, smaller box expansions, and individual character pack expansions. The latter being similar in size to the smaller DLC’s. Lower cost, much fewer sales than the base game, and no up-front fee, […]

They won’t provide a spike but that’s why I think it’s interesting. Videogames companies have moved away from the “big” expanions to much smaller but more frequent DLC. Medieval II was the last title to receive an off the shelf expansion with Kingdoms. All subsequent titles have received more smaller expansions via DLC as well […]

I hang my head in shame! It will be neat to see if Knight Models pick up the new movie likenesses of these DC and Marvel films/shows to make models for their games – could be fun!

Some people like playing with models when they play D&D – it just helps them visualise things and they get to paint their heroes up 🙂 I don’t use miniatures; we just have a little white board where we sketch out the battlefields when it comes to combat. Miniatures were fun though BUT it does […]

DLC is just another way of delivering expansions on a base game, and they won’t generate anything like the revenue the release of the base game does. I’m guessing at some point there’ll be a Total War: Warhammer 2, which will have the potential of spiking revenues by a similar amount.
