Restoration Games have been finding their way on my radar as of recent, with Unmatched Vol.2 and Return to the Dark Tower certainly piquing my interest, I have found myself pondering, what game will they "restore" next?

Omega Virus: Prologue // Restoration Games

Does Omega Virus sound similar to you? This was a board game that was out in the early 90s, where players become the ultimate heroes of space and step up to save the impending doom of the BattleSat1 Space Station from being taken over by the Omega Virus. To my excitement, the game is not getting a restoration, however, it is getting a new title bringing the game into 2021 with fresh new content. Announcing, Omega Virus: Prologue.

Omega Virus: Prologue // Restoration Games

The new title puts two players against the clock, as the players utilise their cards to unlock floor plans in an attempt to save the Battleset1 in peril. Each round, players are required to collect and find keycards in a round, with the hope to find the necessary equipment needed on the floor. By the end of the game, the player who has accumulated the most points by achieving and meeting the objectives will be crowned the winner.

As the game is played out in real-time, players will not be waiting around during their turn allowing both players to go about their objectives simultaneously and competitively.

The Omega Virus (1992) // Milton Bradley

Although this game is due to be released in Q3 of 2021, Restoration Games still have some tricks under their sleeves with more details yet to come about the upcoming title. However, they have confirmed that the game does exist within the same universe as the original title released in 1992.

Did you ever play the original Omega Virus?
