Dead Again Games' Blood on the Sands, the awesome Historical gladiatorial game that we looked at earlier in the year, is now available to pre-order! If you missed out on the Kickstarter campaign, you can now get your hands on the retail version via Helios House Press.

If you're unfamiliar with Blood on the Sands, it is a tactical and thematically rich game of gladiatorial combat for two players which straddles the gap between a wargame and a board game. The focus is to balance historical authenticity with some intriguing tabletop mechanics, which are different from what you've seen elsewhere in other games.

There are options as part of the pre-order to get your hands on just the Core Box but you can also get an Ultimate Two-Player Bundle which comes with one copy of Blood on the Sands, an additional Rulebook, more gladiator miniatures (by Wargames Atlantic) and an MDF Arena (by Sarissa Precision) to fight your battles.

If you want to get more players involved at your local club or store, then you can also buy the Campaign Pack, which has been designed for six players and contains three copies of Blood on the Sands.

You get loads of options on the sprue to build your classic gladiators in a variety of different styles to match the warriors that would have taken to the arena sand. They look brilliant and you can use these to really customise and kitbash your gladiators for Blood on the Sands to match the flow of your campaigns.

Blood on the Sands: Training Grounds is a forty-page guide to playing a small, standalone game in its own right using the core mechanics of the main game. You will represent a Murmillo and Thraex class of gladiator before diving into rules which have been fleshed out, edited and laid out to make a nice print and play set.

The pack comes with your arena for you to play your games, the gladiator playsheets, handy reference charts and options for you to print them at home or at your local print shop. You also get tokens to represent the two gladiators if you don't have miniatures to hand. This is a great option for those eager to get playing Blood on the Sands before the full game arrives later.
