"Hey Cass, do you think we should do La Petite Mort?"

"Ahhhh, not really, Ben!"

"Oh go on, it'll be fun!"

"Hmmm..."

Thankfully, La Petite Mort is the name of a new board game, so Ben doesn't have to visit human resources. In La Petite Mort, you are a 'Little Death' trying to achieve his reaping diploma. The only way to achieve your diploma is to guide humans from birth to death, eventually leading them to the liberating Reap, hopefully after completing the best life possible.

To Reap a character, they must match the requirements of the Reap card which can only be achieved through the development of the characters personalities throughout their life. Players can also have their characters targeted by other Reapers, so building up strengths which protect your characters is important!

When you have achieved four of the objectives shown on your diploma, you have completed your training and graduated top of your class. Get out there and Reap, Tiny Death. I believe in you.

La Petite Mort is a game which proves the old adage that 'good things come in small packages'. This is a really fun competitive game with an original, quirky theme. There are different diplomas to earn for varied levels of difficulty, so even the novice gamer can find something to enjoy here. Oh, did I mention the box? Because this is pretty cool.

La Petite Mort was released at the end of 2018 in mainland Europe but should be rolled out to other countries in 2019. You can find out more information through the Lumberjack's Studio website.

If Sam dresses as Death at a Pratchett convention, is he La Petite Mort?

"Get out there and Reap, Tiny Death. I believe in you!"
