A Renegade Saint Joins Warhammer Quest: Darkwater Heroes
October 28, 2025 by brennon
Games Workshop has revealed the third of the heroes that will be joining the fighting in Warhammer Quest: Darkwater. Bren Tylis, the Renegade Saint, will be fighting alongside Drolf and Edmark against the demonic forces of Nurgle.
Bren Tylis // Warhammer Quest: Darkwater
Bren Tylis is a mercenary, a roaming sword for hire who has fought across the realm of Ghyran and beyond. Tylis is actually descended from a saint, Yondara Tylis, who fell while defending the Jade Abbey, which is the location of the adventure in the new Warhammer Quest.
Yondara's wargear was laid to rest in a Sigmarite temple and when the Jade Abbey was threatened once more, Bren took up the cause, stealing the artefacts from the reluctant priests, before heading out to fight in the name of her ancestor. After many years as a sellsword of some disrepute, she is aiming to perhaps earn some glory that puts her in good standing with her ancestor. Yondara's spirit does aid her in this, gifting some wisdom to this hot-headed mercenary.
All-in-all, I like this miniature for Bren but I'm not a fan of the lantern on her back. It might be the case that she actually looks better once you get a more rounded view of her from a different perspective! I'm sure we'll see more once the big new Warhammer Preview hits at the start of November.
What do you think of Bren Tylis?

True for a few GW minis these days (40k Khârn I’m looking at you, but not just at you). I love her face though, she looks absolutely livid.
I think her face looks like someone has flattened her nose. It’s the worst bit of the model.
It’s looking more & more distressingly like I;m gonna need at least two sets of the heroes from this, as I can easily see a way to turn Bren here into an Oblivion Knight for my Sisters of Silence….
“Heroine on rock”
Is it just me or do these miniatures seem to have a very different feel to the original artwork we saw? The differences are subtle but they make a huge difference. The original art really harked back to 90’s era artwork, but that hasn’t translated into the miniatures at all. The “Dwarf” is probably the best but he also looked like he was absolutely massive.
lmao
Nope! Thankfully, there are plenty of available substitutes. IMHO, GW has no clue how to create women’s faces.
