Time to stick on that farmer's cap and break out the John Deare tractor from the barn - we've got some animals to round up.

It's another early morning on the ranch. You wake up and climb out of bed like any normal day, only to find the sun is already over the horizon... Wait, the sun is already rising?... The clock shows 8am! You should already be completing the day's chores by now. What happened to the rooster?

In Rolling Ranch, players must rebuild their ranch after a hurricane. Each player acts simultaneously to repair their ranch, rescue animals, and construct buildings become the most successful rancher possible.

Players are provided with a pencil and a ranch sheet.  The dice are rolled and players can choose from three actions; rescue the animal on the blue dice, rescue the animal on the yellow dice, or collect the resources on both dice.

All choices are recorded on the player's individual ranch sheet. The game ends when one player has filled in all the spaces on their ranch sheet.  There are also special achievement cards, such as having ten or more pigs, or six or more buildings.  Points are accumulated for buildings and animals, and the player with the most points wins!

This is a great game for larger groups, as it can serve up to 20 players and has a very short run time.  I can see it being a good classroom game.  Rolling Ranch will pre-release at Essen in October, but there is currently a free print-and-play and dice app available on the Thundergryph website.

Which game are you most excited for at Essen this year?  Tell us in the comments!
