Vital Lacerda is known for his complex board games and his upcoming project, Weather Machine, seems to not buck that trend. Eagle-Gryphon Games are seeking to release this fascinating puzzle next year in 2022.

Weather Machine - Eagle-Gryphon Games

Weather Machine // Eagle-Gryphon Games

The game follows the exploits of one Professor Sêni Lativ, Project Chief of Meteorological Manipulation at Lightning Technologies. He is seeking to stop terrible floods, cyclones, droughts and control the weather to make the world a better place.

However, even as the machine starts to change the world for the better a butterfly effect causes all manner of catastrophes at the same time due to the machines side effects. You take the role of a scientist on the Professor's team where you'll need to work on changing the weather for your benefit whilst also dealing with the side effects.

The game plays with between one and four players and comes in at the heavier side of things when it comes to complexity. You'll have to balance snapping up supplies, chemicals and materials in order to complete your experiments whilst also fixing the Professor's mistakes.

The game looks beautiful, as is the case with a lot of these games from Eagle-Gryphon, thanks to the work by Ian O'Toole. I think it's going to be fascinating seeing how the machine works within Weather Machine.

As I say, not for the faint of heart but it should be very rewarding once you get into it!
