Happy Sunday -where did that year go?
Indeed I’ve been asking myself that very question lolv
I am starting to get Bootcamp withdrawal. .. that also almost been a year …
I heard that. We should set up a trip for me to come over there in early 2018, Boot Camp or not.
@oriskany now you are talking. …
AAGH! Missed it by _that_ much again! 😉
HAPPY SUNDAY!!
Never underestimate the power of insomnia 😉
Happy Sunday!!!
Best line ever, Daddy, you clearly don’t get Mondays.
Hang in there @warzan. The Beasts have your back.
Lol Simply put, I have learned a lot. And have incredible respect for any single parents and homemaker parents out there! (It’s a flipping tough job!)
Join the club – I only have 1 but getting her ready in the mornings – and Monday in paticular is hard work … @warzan all the best to you and everyone by the way
3 kids…….
Respect man. I have my two kids only during the weekends and they are 10 and 12 allready.
Sometimes I am glad they are at mum, so I can hobby a little, but in the end I am always happy when the weekend is near again 😉
@warzan, for productivity with board games, what are you looking for? Are you looking at making the decisions that dictate the events that unfold in Gloomhaven as the world reacts to your party’s actions? Is it building and painting the Kingdom Death: Monster survivor miniatures for the civilization that you’ve built up? Are you talking about making your own 3D hand sculpted hex tiles for Settlers of Catan? Replacing the plastic robots in Robo Rally with custom metal ones from Dream Pod 9? Building a custom insert for the Scythe Legendary box to hold the core game and both expansions?
I’m thinking aspects of any and all of the above mate :)”
Hope all the issues with your little one are sorted out very soon
Best wishes to you and your family
Greenstuff and superglue together will give you an extremely good bond
Tesla died in 1943 which is why I frown at Tesla turrets in Konflikt 47 AFTER the rifts opened. maybe they zombied Tesla and the rift undead finished the turret design.
Anyone else get annoying buffering on the XLBS show. Doesn’t happen on Saturday show just Sunday.
Cracking show though
On my tablet the video keeps resetting itself to the start every so often
Yes. It have been getting it across backstage output, like Johns SS vlog as well. I thought it was because of the gradual switching to BoW 2.O ?
It’s a Vimeo thing, and a bit out of our control unless we can find a new way to deliver video.
It’s to do with how they load slander the streams I believe.
Hopefully it will work out. All thoughts go to you and yours @warzan , may little Stormbringer get well very soon 😀 .
Happy Sunday all! Great show all.
@warzan Hope the wee man is all sorted soon mate, best wishes on that front!
@dignity Great looking pox walkers so far man! It may have inspired me to paint up some of my Death Guard stuff from the Dark Imperium boxed set!
@thisisazrael I too have spent/lost many years to WoW.. still lose a couple of hours a week … your statement has made me feel guilty hahaha BUT WoW Classic is coming in a while and I’m not sure I’ll be able to hold off the pull of that once it hits!
@milmaa for the good of my life as a whole I must avoid WoW Classic 😛 the days of leading 40 man MC raids are behind me, I hope…. Az
I think the “this is living” PoV is one of the wisest things I’ve ever heard. I’ll keep it in mind when s…tuff next gets real for me.
Love to you and the family, @warzan, May the littlun see a speedy and full recovery. Good health to you all!
Its not even December yet and your talking about Christmas already?
There are 12 days of Christmas, none of which are in November, etc. and so on.
I saw a QI the other day that said Christmas traditionally started on the 11th of November.
As backstager… Every day is like Christmas day for you 😉
I just know today is weird as I nearly bought some 28mm figures. The only saving grace is that they weren’t plastic ones I was considering
A welcome return of Pseudo-History with Warren Johnston :p. And it’s pronounced ‘Nuh-phi-leem’.

Lol amazing!!! 🙂
I never ask for any hobby related stuff from family, mostly because anything that I do want that isn’t that expensive, I already have it, so that leaves only the expensive stuff which I wouldn’t ask for lol. Although I’ve been promised a FW Warlord titan for my 10 year anniversary
Warren mate i’m made up that your planning on getting back into some hobby. something all together wholesome about spending sometime with your children painting, good for them and good for you. have to agree in the pace of consumerism and relative lack of creativity for boardgames and cardgames when compared to miniature wargames, boardgames and RPGs.
not that each isn’t with out some measure of the other. which leads me to say I really like the idea of sometime being spent on bringing hobby into boardgaming. something classy and tasteful about natural substances in boardgames Az, love the stone polishing idea.
Bens work on his burrows and badgers has been a joy to see. if I could work out how to put pictures on this ridicules contraption I would have posted the mice and mystics stuff i’m working on.
Justin can you stick a link in for the light of yours mate.
great job on the deathguard, when did you go and get sneakily good?
Thank you @emptynessisform – I look forward to seeing your Mice & Mystics stuff if you find a place to post them 🙂
…and here is the link I believe.

@warzan as long as you don’t take exception to such things, I will practice Sanjay Menla the medicine Buddha on 8th Luna day for your little man.
Mate, in our home love and kindness are just that 🙂 it matters not how they are practiced or manifested… They come from a good place and we’re grateful for you thinking about us 🙂
@dignity Any chance you could share the link for where you got the light, please? I could use on of those…
This is the one he found I believe @oathsworn

Thank you!
lads happy Sunday….what about a collection for Recon, i would be willing to help surely with the world wide support we could help this guy out???
Good afternoon, everyone ~
Just a quick aside (I promise a more complete reply later . . .)
At 55:30, where the guys are talking about “what can you make with your board games to keep it productive and not 100% consumer based . . .”
While I was listening to that, I was in Photoshop working on new counters for Valor & Victory. With a lot of hex & counter wargames (which some people consider board games) – the expandability and replayability comes from desktop publishing your own units, maps, counters, etc. Many people then share these with the community – my entire PanzerBlitz Barbarossa library (21 scenarios and thousands of counters) is on Boardgame Geek.
It’s painting, it’s hobby … just with a different brush.
Someone on Boardgame Geek even made “Ack Ack” Mars Attacks units for Valor & Victory, so you can have “Ack Ack” Martians up against any WW2 army after just an hour or so of work. 😀
The Martians are pretty good. I’ll stick with my Soviet Guards battalion, though. 😀
@oriskany said With a lot of hex & counter wargames (which some people consider board games)
What else are they 😉
Warren I hear you! Re bought AC-DC’s back in black on new shiny 180g yesterday……it sounds amazing!
@warzan check out six squared studio for their mdf painting accessories.

And Happy Sunday
What’s the difference between a stag beetle and a dung beetle?
The Stag beetle isn’t married. 😛
Boom boom!
@warzan So you’re saying that gingers are really just midget nephilim? Interesting, Go on……
@warzan were you TRYING to make me cry first thing in the morning, because that’s how you make me cry.
sorry about that @shamanatdawn!
HobbyZone from Poland do its looks awesome try it @warzan
a great show hopes & prayers to the baby @warzan
Happy Sunday! Great show as always! Warren, it is so nice to see you back and thinking about you and your family. Jack is a little warrior and we wish him all the best.
So I gave a lot of thought regarding the name of the space station so here it goes :
B.O.B Beasts Orbital Bastian!! I think that has a nice ring to it!
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Ooo nice!
Happy sunday guys and thanks for the show!
Good evening, all.
First off, thanks for the mention, @warzan – I feel I should quickly, politely, respectfully make it clear I wasn’t in Afghanistan, or even the more recent 2003-2014 War in Iraq. I was in for Gulf War One (sorry to say that yes, I am that old 🙂 ), and even then I seriously didn’t do anything remotely “impressive.” There are some very serious combat veterans in the BoW community, though.
Okay, on the nephilim thing, I eh . . . I respectfully have no comment. 😐
Now I with you on Nikola Tesla. Totally correct that I certainly never heard about him in school, but outside reading, totally agree that he was distrusted by the US government at the time, etc. His research has only more recently become more public now that ideas and theories on superconduction (re: magnets in particular) as a basis for US Navy research / testing on rail guns.
You are also right that the CIA didn’t technically exist during the years in question. There was the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), which is pretty much the parent organization that the CIA would grow out of.
Just asking, but do theories on the free energy have to be taken with a grain of salt? Was it really “free?” I thought it was just to be delivered without wires or cables. The power itself still has to be generated somehow. Even then, I think the main delivery would be done via microwaves. Now remote power transfer via microwaves has been experimented for use in space, etc. But here on earth? The effect as I understand would be akin to putting a whole city in a giant microwave oven?
The Edison vs. Westinghouse rivalry is also very interesting to read about, whether AC or DC currents would be the standard, etc. Some cutthroat maneuvering done there.
@oriskany The power that Tesla was trying to generate/propagate at Wardenclyffe was meant to be distributed without wires or lines _and_ Tesla envisioned it being given freely to people as a public good. He expected that whoever helped him develop it would not make people pay for it.
So electrical energy would be freely available without payment, in the same way that water used to be.
Wonderful show fellas! @warzan I hope your little one gets all sorted!
My Christmas wish would just be time; time to sit and paint all my goodies without worry of responsibilities.
Thanks for all your heart-felt well wishes, it means a lot guys. It was mainly my mum’s studio/hobby place. I used the place as a think tank/inspiration area, or I’d go see mum for advice of how to do something for a hobby project i would be working on, for which she’d either have the advice, or a trick that would get me where i needed during that project. In some ways, I now have some great reference photo’s for how to paint burnt buildings, tin, & trees. Always gotta look at what each life experience teaches us, and what we learn from each experience.
We’ve managed to salvage all sorts of bits and pieces, metal/enamel cook ware, metal tools, and utensils, some old penny’s (from my grandfather, he ran the local 2-up school with another family for years) apart from 3 plants in the house, the majority of the gardens survived, and has been relocated over the road, all the garden tools and the shed they were in, I’ll post pic’s when the site is leveled.
I know mum has “plans” for the future but I’m not certain what they are….yet
I sure I’ll get told soon enough.
And don”t worry @warzan, “The ANZAC bikkies must flow”. it’ll take more than a small upset like this to stop the great annual anzac bikkie migration.
Great to hear mate, keep us posted on how you get on mate and tell your mum we were asking about her!
@warzan – for the hobby painting station setup, I would highly recommend The Rack by back-2-base-ix (http://www.back2base-ix.com/). I just gotone up for myself and it’s great! Totally modular system, with magnets to set it up how you like. I’m not gonna lie – it’s definitely a *wee bit* pricey – and because it ships from Australia you really need to pick up the complete set as that comes with free shipping – but it’s made a huge difference to my hobby area.
Comes in MDF or Acryllic – I initially ordered the MDF, and then changed my mind and upgraded to the acryllic cause it wasn’t that more expensive for what you’re laying out anyway.
Like I say it’s certainly a *luxury* hobby item but I’m really pleased with it! Now I just need my Aussie mate to fly home for Christmas so I can pick up a couple of the other modules!
I can second Back2Baseix – I have three of their Wall Climber paint organisers and absolutely love them. I don’t have a permanent hobby space so I store them in a cupboard when not in use. As they have magnets it’s so easy to take them out and stack them at my painting area and I have all my paints easily accessible.
I wish I had time on Saturdays to watch you guys. Love the weekender!
talking about doing more board game hobby. I am going to start posting my journey through painting Conan (Kings Pledge)
So hoping that U will do your annual shopping guide for gamers.
Oooh so many games! Impossible to mitosis!
