First — Does first dance
As the first dance is replete with swiveling hips, gyrating buttocks, and a thrusting pelvis, I apologise for any eye injures that may ensue.
Happy Sunday
Wow 69 000 … that’s hard to swallow …. 😉
Not sure anybody who was in the Waffen SS should be described as a cool dude
“Cruel douchebag” maybe…
Warren just got too excited.. must be relentless or Irish Breakfast tea!
The components for dead man’s doubloons look incredible. I’d love to see that played.
I’d love to play it!!!
Happy Sunday!
Nice work on the tanks John!
This show has just revealed to me why I should never be allowed to go to Essen, GenCon or any other similar convention… well, not unless I won the lottery!
I love the idea of linked games where your character carries through. Closest I can think of is the North Sea Sagas by Garphill Games where there’s a Rune Saga game that scores across the three core games. An expansion to one of the games is due on KS soon and you can usually get the set of games as add-ons.
Sonow I have to pick one…. The Palace of Mad King Ludwig!
I love The Castle of… game and this looks as interesting, despite the mass of elements.
I agree, Palace of Mad King Ludwig looks very intriguing. I actually like the mass of elements.
Happy Sunday 🙂 I want them all!
John this you tube channel has several different WW2 cammo demos.https://youtu.be/2Sp7ceA8Fqw
Happy Sunday! Great show. Loved the unboxing – I’ve got that post-present opening Christmas feeling now!
I think for me, Pioneers grabbed me the most. WWX has gotten me in a Wild West mood so a game setting up frontier towns sounds like great fun!
Looks at the Dragoon game and says “My Precious….” in my best Gollum voice
The tanks are looking amazing. Love that German camo.
The unboxing was awesome. Love the look of nomad – watched the Essen coverage and that game was one of the stand outs just for the simplicity of play, but the strategic stack selection.
Blank iso sounds fun, though I think I’d need two copies, one for kids and the other for my warped friends.
Dragon castle looks great and I love the art direction on it
Anything with cowboy meeples has to be good.
Dead mans doubloon looks fantastic – the artwork alone would hook me into that game.
I’m sorry I missed the Kickstarter on dragoon. The tea towel playmate is an interesting concept
@warzan – After whiping the cock out you can’t act surprised about the lads laughing about those jugs!
Warrens Inflatable Gaming Surface – W.I.G.S – Kids, get your wigs out…..
Wonderful show.
D-Day Dice looks incredible! That’s my choice.
Happy Sunday!
I would love to steal Dead man’s Doublons
I’ve always wanted to play Mah Jong , so I’d love the copy of Dragon Castle . xx
Dead Mans Dabloons for me… While watching this awesome unveiling of games my 7 year old daughter piped up and said “ooooo can we buy that one daddy??? I love pirates and it’s got ghosts in it.”
Very Happy Sunday everyone 😀 .
My pick from Essen was Dragoon and i was so chuffed to see the box appear from within your big box of joy 😀 . Pioneer peeked my attention, as did D-Day Dice, i will be keeping an eye on Kickstarter for it to appear.
always suspected that when @warzan got his cock out that it would be a little pecker.
Some gorgeous looking games there, Tao Long alone I would have bought just because of the box art.
Happy Sunday!!
Great video again thanks.
Dragon Castle is definitely the pick of the bunch for me.
Got to be Dead Mans Dubloons
Wow, so many good games! I can only pick one?!?
Tough choice… would have to go with The palace of Mad king Ludwig then, who wouldnt want more swans in their lifes?
The Palace of Mad King Ludwig looks awesome and it’s definitely the more grown up choice than saying I’d like ‘the lady with the big jugs’…… snigger!
Hmm if I had to pick only one I think i’d go with Oh Captain. Bluffing games tend to go down well with my gaming group, and the art work looks great
for the love of sci fi con in Manchester early December.
William Shatner and Billy( baby ) Dee Williams to name a few will be in attendance for those that are interested.
I dunno, I once went to a convention to see Billy Dee Williams and before I knew it he’d handed me over to Darth Vader…
You Lando
Dragon Castle looks cool. Love the haul from Essen.
@john. This website (http://military.wikia.com/wiki/Kurt_Knispel#cite_note-Pg_125-0) recounts the story about Kurt Knispel and it contains a Bibliography that may have the whole story about his encounter with the ” Einsatzgruppen officer whom he saw mistreating Soviet POWs) ”
I am a backer for Dead Man’s Doubloons and I am very excited to play it. Indian Summer is very hot and is selling out everywhere. I can’t wait to play both.
Since Indian Summer is not on the list, Dragoon is the most interesting game I see on your list and if I don’t win it will be on my future buy list.
Hey guys. This is Blake from Canada, eh?
I noticed Aristeia in the background of the hobby segment. That together with the amazing cameo of Bostria in the Lloyd montage yesterday tells me that we will be seeing a demo of that sometime soon!
As for what I would pick from the games you guys showed off, I would have to put my name on the Farmer’s Guild. There were a number of lovely games there, as well as some interesting accessories and terrain, but at my core I’m a mini gamer and I know I’d get more use, both hobby time and playing, out of the Guild Ball models.
I love the attention they put into all the grave stones, etc., but you guys can keep those. 😉
I’m sure I’d have a blast with the Farmers.
That’s a lot of card board crack! I think I’d pick Dragoon out of those, looks really good!
Great show! John did a fantastic job on all those tanks.
That idea for the broom bristles is great. I’m going to be using it for my Space marine scout snipers laser sights.
I was kicking my self for missing the Dragoon kickstarter, beautifully styled game.
Wow! That’s alot of cool games! If I have to pick one it would be Dead Man’s Doubloons! Really like the Ghost ships, so cool that you can still play after you die! 😀 But I also really like the Dragon Castle! Looks amazing! But if I only could pick one it have to be Dead Man’s Doubloons! Awesome show guys as always! Really liked the Bolt Action hobby segment also! I have to buy a starter set of Bolt Action!
Dead Man’s Doubloon’s looks amazing. Reminds me of my childhood playing Buccaneer. Dragoon also looks fantastic. The metalic gaming pieces look simple but so stunning. If I was lucky enough to be the winner, either of those games would make my day.
Looking forward to John’s next project.
Yet again, a great show guys. 🙂
Great weekender. Other than Warren showing off his cock it was as you say spot on. I really enjoyed the look of D-Day Dice and definitely make sure we know when it goes to Kickstarter. I really like the look of the Palace of Mad King Ludwig from among the choices provided.
Got to say Dragoon is my choice.
@warzan not inflatable but should work great for the dice chuckers… https://easyrollerdice.com/collections/gaming-accessories/products/dice-tray-11-5-octagon-shaped-with-velvet-liner?variant=47365716884
@johnlyons Here’s a interesting video I stumbled across earlier this week about the effectiveness of Waffen SS camo. Thought I’d share it with you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4ea-0r0oww
Awesome! Thank you
I watched todays show whilst putting together some new shelving for my man cave. Some interesting games on the show today and some rather weird ones as well lol
Jon’s tanks look awesome and I need to get on and finish my tank collection.
I liked the look of the D Day Dice game and the Dragoon game.
Who doesn’t want to be a dragon? Loved the minis too.
John should checkout Andy Zack’s efforts on the Bolt Action Facebook page. He’s hit the new SS multipart box and played with some schemes. Great results.
SS-handschar fezz heads in the box look really interesting, but as they were Eastern front anti-partisan mountain troops I’m not really interested in that theatre.
Dragoon give it.. Dragoooon
Loved seeing all of John’s tanks. If I had to pick a game, I’d say the Farmer’s Guild Ball team.
Happy Sunday!
For me, Dragoon is the game that stands out as something i would check out.
John’s tanks are awesome and i can’t wait to see him paint his Waffen SS this week
Dead Mans Doubloons for me, I loved watching the play through. Great show guys.
I really like to play football, but Warzan is bigger than me. So I would pull for “The Palace Of Mad King Ludwig” where there might be space for a pitch.
Without any doubt at all, The game I want to play more than any other is Dragoon. It has a great concept, lots of different mechanics for how to win, and all those oh so shiny tokens!!! 😀 😀 😀
I would have to say, what a sizeable collection you have brought back, would love the opportunity to play Dead Mans Doubloons, amazing minis and great characterful illustrations of all the captains…
What else was in the box! Cool stuff, I’d definitely go for Dragoon, lovely metal pieces and beautiful looking game.
Oh you made it a hard choice… but my favorite has to be Dragoon because my wife loves everything connected to Dragons. That would be the perfect Christmas gift for her.
But on the Waffen SS topic. I assume you are going to replicate the pea dot camo of late war @johnlyons ? If yes… well that’s an enormous project. Making all those tiny dots on every guy in that force must take ages to complete.
Happy Sunday…got to be D-Day Dice for me..looks fun, anything WW2 just rocks for me…oh congratulations also on reaching 69’000 subscribers….that puts you in a real good position!!
@johnlyons
I wholeheartedly recommend the Vallejo Waffen-SS paint set!
Great value for money summer and winter colours and a quick guide 😎
Have a look at mine here:

@johnlyons. I’m just glad to see that the Kurt found a good home!
I have to say the D-day dice would be my choice but since it is a kick starter it would have to be Dragon Castle. Both my wife and daughter love that game and a new twist on it would be cool.
Dragoon for me.
First time as a backstager today as finally joined up. Nice show too
Got to be dragoons gold that I would swipe. What a great looking, quality set of components. Hope the gameplay is as good.
I haven’t played mahJong in ages, so Dragon Castle for me
Lucky beggars, all that stuff. Some good looking games there, enjoy.
a fab show guys love the survival box you got I think the dragon game would be good the D Day game looks fun as well.
Happy Sunday!
Great show as always!
The Dead Mans Doubloons game looks cool, seems kinda like Jamaica which is one of my Favorite games.
Happy Sunday! Great work team and excellent job on those tanks, John! Man, Dragoon looks awesome… 😉
Great show. A lot of fun. D-Day sounds like a fun game.
I really like all the games you showed. I would be happy to play any of them. If I had to choose just one I guess it would be Dead Man’s Doubloons.
I totally Agree! Dead man’s Doubloons really sounds like it would be great fun. You spend the whole time trying to get the treasure off the island only to have your ship destroyed and now you have to try and get it all the way back! the humor could get ridiculous!
Following this video, I’m envious and I feel I’ve had enough innuendo to last me a lifetime. Keep up the good work guys.
Pioneers looks awesome!
I’ve got to say that dragon castles game is simply beautiful!!
well now I feel silly, I meant to say dragoons… but hey dragon castle is quite nice as well!
Happy Monday – OK I live in your Future… don’t I??(from Downunder Southernlands). Some great looking games but I loved the art work of Tao Long
Althought Indian Summer would be a great game for those of us who like to garden (when not painting figures and gaming of course)!!
Without question Dead Man’s Doubloons is my pick, oh lord that game looks amazing, especially the Gold edition, Kickstarter regret for not backing is strong
No doubt about it, Dragoon is the one that caught my interest.
John with the last minute hobby save, I wonder when he’ll get his hobby god bag. Or if staff aren’t allowed how about a hobby god toque?
And then we’re on to a box so large, so heavy with games that the only man up to the task of lifting it is sexy furious himself. Now if he’d like to lift dragoon into my mailbox I wouldn’t complain and not just because of those beautiful components but because you get to be a dragon. Who wouldn’t want that, enough of these anti-dragon propaganda games bring out more like dragoon 🙂
I have to say I would love to try Dragon Castle. It looks very cool!
as I’m not a boardgamer I would have to go for the Guild Ball Ghoulies
Fantastic show. Thanks so much! A special thanks to John for saving the hobby segment. The tanks are amazing.
And what a box of goodies!!! No wonder Sexy Furious was all over it 😀
Kinda impossible to choose just one. It’s like picking your favorite child :p But I’m gonna go with Nomads. (sorry other kids I haven’t met/played with yet. I’m sure I would have loved you too :p).
For me it would be indian summer… but you didn’t put it on the list. I don’t know if it’s a mistake or you just want to keep it. If it’s not a possible choice then i’d go with Dragoon.
One day I will plan to go to Essen or one of the American shows.
I had to stop the video during the Dragon Castle unboxing to go watch some reviews of it. It is now currently on my wish list. 🙂
If I had to pick one…..
It would be The Palace Of Mad King Ludwig. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while. My wife was in Germany as a child while her father was in the US Army during the VN war. Neuschwanstein castle is one of the places they visited, although she doesn’t remember it (too young), but she has a deck of playing cards with images of the castle, which serve as her memory of the place. I’ve been buying her occasional gifts that relate, and I will be picking up a copy of The Palace (that is, if I don’t win a copy, wink wink!) for her.
John carrying the channel again. Time to talk about your salary 🙂
Also in awe of the size of @azrael‘s package 😮
Ah wrong user, oh well.
The first of these that I have watched, keep up the good work guys.
For me it has to be Pioneers for the draw 🙂
Palace of mad king ludwig for sure!
great show as always, guys. all games look feckin sweet, but for me, it has to the awesome looking Deadman’s Doubloons .. those litle ship minis are great and who doesnt love pirates??
its got to be Dead Mans Doubloons 🙂
The Palace of Mad King Ludwig looks very very cool!
Happy Past Weekend!
“Who ya gonna Call?” Johnbusters
( Let’s hope they don’t recast him with an all female version… Then again hot chick John talking WW2 would be interesting… )
If I had to choose a game Dead Man’s Doubloons looks most like something I’d play. Looks like a lot of fun!
Great show guys!
Good grief, the quality of board games is getting mad! I will say, outta what you got there, I’d be all over Dragoon!
the farmers guild and other guild ball stuff is looking good as always. if they are not given away it may be a good future vlog for John (if you are feeling nice maybe give him some engineers to paint as well)
That was an early Christmas. Wonderful selection of games.
And the topics for this show went all over the place. I fear the day @warzan is allowed to put his cock on the table.
If I had to pick a game I’d go for Dragon Castle. The game pieces look and sound lovely. 🙂
Dead mans Doubloons for me, I’ve just got into blood and plunder, I think I may have a
Pirate addiction developing! Lol!
I really like the look of D Day dice think I’ll be looking to back the KS.
So many great games if I had to pick one think I’d go for Dead Man’s Doubloons. Tough decision though.
Dragon Castle could be fun
the tanks are looking amazing.
So hard to pick just one, but I like the look of Pioneers.
It’s so hard to choose. Lets say Dragoons.
Got to be Dragon Castle for me, I love mah-jong and the feel of those tiles. So this would go perfect with my Hanafuda card set for an Asian themed games night.
Since I own Tao Long already, I think I would go with Drogoon
i was glad to see DD Dice still is a thing. I have the base box, never understood how to play but it seemed interesting.
wellll I’ll happily try playing all of those games out the box 😀
Pioneers sounds like it would be fun.
I really love the goofy segments of those shows xD Lately they have been on point. It’s great to be a bakstager jajajajaja
I Loved this chaps! A beautifully designed board game can give you a nice gooey feeling when you unbox it. The ones that appealed the most were Dragoon (those tokens! Wow!) and dead mans da lions. What’s not to like about ghost pirates?
Had pretty much everything that show. Great (proxy) hobbying, some superb golden buttons and a load of games. Dead Man’s Doubloons gets my vote!
Great show as always. I can’t wait to see the tank war battle! Its going to be epic!
The coverage of Essen was fantastic! If I had to pick one, Dragoon looks to be the pick of the litter.
Dragon Castle looks like a game my wife would enjoy playing, so that’d be my pick. Alternatively a Christmas present idea.
How exciting was that, I really enjoy board games and it is so exciting to see new ones I have not had the chance to play yet. The one thing that always fascinates me is the wide variety of mechanics found in the different games now. When I was young I only ever really played some of the traditional classics and their mechanics were always similar. But the games being produced now are all so different and it truly amazes me that these designers can keep coming up with new innovative games.
If I had to pick one game that caught my attention most I would say it would have to be Indian Summer. I thinks it’s simplicity appeals to me but I bet there is going to be such depth in the strategy for that game. I see that is not on Ben’s list, if I had to pick from the list I think Dragoon. I wanted to back it on Kickstarter but missed it at the end, so this I think is also a great looking game, the metal pieces are just superb looking though.
I like the look of Oh Captain and Nomads, but I’d have to have Dragoon if I could choose. What a stunning looking game, with a great theme too.
In my haste to attempt cheap jokes last week, I missed my favourite part of @thisisazrael‘s magnificent package: Dragoon (so shiny, so very shiny)
Really enjoyed the Essen coverage and it is great to see one of those post-con ‘let’s look through all the cool stuff we got’ reviews.
There are some great looking games there but I’m picking The Palace of Mad King Ludwig because, swans.
What amount of meeples, game comnents tokens etc coollooking games. Some Goes to the purchasing list!
