Granitus the Titan of Stone
A mighty crunching was heard in the distance. Was there an avalanche? No not a avalanche but a living mountain of stone! It was enormous standing 200, no 300 meters tall. It was truly a sight to behold as it approached my town. I could see the sun glint of the myriad of gemstones that festooned its carapace. It looked like a herculean Beetle crushing everything in its path. It devoured trees like a sheep eating grass and knocked down buildings as if they were offending it, The town guard tried to mount a defense but they were cut down by a vomitous mudslide spewed forth from the creatures mouth. I could only look on in horror as everyone I knew were wiped from the earth. It the beasts wake I journeyed into the wreckage and found that some gemstones had fallen of its body, great rubies, and sapphires the size of an apple. I collected a sack of them and set off, knowing that in its wake Granitus does provide fortune for the survivors.
Fantastic show. I’ll record my YouTube video tonight of my Titan.

For the mythic battles paint schemes, all the statuesque ideas sound cool. Bit whichever you go for I think firing up the eyes and weapons with energy effects would be awesome. Like the statues are imbued with the powers of the gods and come to life.
Splash of OSL with the airbrush should do the trick.
Happy Sunday!!
Finally got my base pledge for MB:P yesterday, and the size of the collection is daunting; hence the wife’s eyebrows have disappeared under her hairline. Trying to imagine if I’d gone Typhon!
Well, ****er me with a big measuring stick! After all this time and I’ve actually won something!!
When the pic went up my heart started to pound, then my idea was read out… Off to dig some pyjamas out from the back of my drawer to do an unsuitable dance in!
Prometheus stood staring across the landscape of ruined temples and collapsed buildings. His liver itched as he sensed the presence of a now diminished god; the same god he had helped to conquer Olympus many aeons before; but the same that had turned on him left him chained to his rock to suffer an eternal tormented existence; well it only lasted for most of those aeons.
Heracles, the demi-god that had rescued Prometheus – a previously immortal titan- – from the rock, stepped up beside him accompanied by a retinue of soldiers. “I feel the presence of my father too!” he told him.
Out of the gloom emerged Zeus, diminished but still powerful. “Ha – the two of you together. How convenient!” Lightning fired from his fingertips straight at the group. Prometheus immediately leapt to absorb the lightning, saving Heracles and the soldiers from any immediate harm. “You and your love of your precious humans!” sneered Zeus. “They’ll be the downfall of you yet.”
Heracles picked up a nearby broken column and hurled it towards Zeus shouting “I offer you another gift father!” But before it could hit, another giant form stepped out in front of Zeus and blocked the throw.
“Brother – you should be on our side!” exclaimed Prometheus, “it was Zeus that condemned both of us and in turn Heracles that saved both of us.”
“Things have moved on and times are very different now” responded Atlas. “Sides are joined out of necessity, not from ancient favours and family ties; although now you mention it there is the small matter of your betrayal that let Zeus capture me in the first place!”
“Families – meh!” murmured one of the soldiers behind Heracles. “CHARGE!”
Reposting in titan thread with design notes for Prometheus
The Junkyard Titan…
Iron girders, pitted with rust, ground and crunched as the industrial behemoth lumbered forward. Each seismic step shook the ground, leaving crators the size of buildings. The thunderous impacts were punctuated by the squeal of twisting metal.
Below the titan, a constant rain of metallic flakes fell like rusted snow. From time to time, larger pieces twisted through the air and slammed into the ground. Towards the summit of the construct, enormous arms the size of dockyard cranes swung back and forth. Highest of all, a great metallic silo sat on shoulders fashioned from the hulls of scuttled ships – and a monstrous searchlight sliced outwards like a blazing cyclopean eye.
Good to see some XLBS again. I missed it over Christmas 🙂
Olympus Mons, Titan of Mars
Something tickled. Not the usual sharp pain of space-rock impacts, or the fiery burn of the Parent Star. More like an insect running up its back.
But it had been many millennia since the organics had left. Their fleeting existence extinguished as they squandered their opportunity for peace. A pang of remorse? No. It had to be done. Such hubris could not be allowed to continue unchecked.
Had they learned? The blue-green planet was still blue-green. They’ve lasted longer this time. Maybe there is hope.
Again the tickling. Some kind of wheeled creature. Advanced technology. Probing. Learning. Yes, hope.
Maybe the time will come to reignite the fires. To restart the cycle of life. But today is not that day. They still have much to prove.
For now….sleep.
A Typhon pledge you say?….I don’t zink I am very interested … I already have one you zee… 😉
Seriously anyone who wins this is going to need a Titanic amount of space to fit it all in…lol
My God pledge was big enough… Might try though?
It’s nice to see the Titan entries coming in already but would it not be easier to start a stand alone thread for people to post in so people can read them all in the same place?
done http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/backstage-green-room/forum/topic/xlbs-14-01-18-titan-entries/
Well, there is only really one choice for Titans…
Teen Titans 😉
greyknights….
Now that is out of the way, the real titan choice or should I say the correct choices…
The Sons of Cronos, Défteros, Leptó, and Ωρες
(Now I hope that website doesn’t scramble the Greek)
Also, known as Seconds, Minutes, and Hours
These ravenous beast consume all in their site, take your most precious moments from your life slips away as they pass by. Insects and rodents drop dead as the pass, their lives completely destroyed at their mere presence. Seconds is the smallest of the three, but his smaller stature, is made up for in his hyperactive nature, making the hummingbird look positively serene by comparison. Minutes is larger and slower, but not by a large margin, like a swallow in heat, he rampages about looking to steal your most precious moments. Finally hours… He either drags his feet slowly plodding along or runs at a gallop as his brother run constantly around him.
The thing that people comment on most is not their rampaging nature but the cold indifference in their eyes.
A competition for a Typhon bundle? Will have to get an entry in for that :p
Typhon bundle you say @redben? Will have to get an entry in for that too!!! :p
Great Show, brilliant to have you all back, Happy New Year, etc….
Sorry Justin but I’m with Warren on this one 😀 you will need transition that only airbrush can give you. but with that technique you can do bit by bit as well it does not take long and give yo 100% control.
I’m coming to 4ground bootcamp in feb and staying till Tuesday so I can help you a bit if needed.
oh and Warren @warzan marble come in all colours mate, anything you can imagine.
yellow with violet, red, blue or white veins. white, pinkish, reddish, pink, salmon, rose, green white black. and all that in different shades,
Computation 001001001 Titan
The faint buzz of something eerie could be heard just on the boundary of the humans hearing.A quick flicker of coloured light caught the eye.
Suddenly a great crasendo of mechanical noise is heard as the beast awakes, the small lights are dwarfed by gigantic screens lighting up and fans the size of a small house work to cool the hot workings inside the body.I rears up higher and higher dwarfing the world of man,it scans the world around with a vision that sees and haters everything!
It bellows”enter password and I will reveal knowledge beyond your wildest dreams”
Shouts of user 001 can be heard to no avail the a voice quietly says “zero zero zero zero”
“Ah an enlightened one! Proceed administrator”
A small child steps forward and asks the Titan “Why is the sky blue?……..”Why is grass green?
The Titan screams NO not the Why monster !
Well I have been base coating my Mythic Battle Pantheon figures using army painter skelly bone and then using the Army Painter Method for the troops and going a bit more town on the hero’s god’s and Monsters.
I did cut my Athena model off the base it took about 20mins to do with the tools I have..lol
@warzan easy ghost effect
prime grey (stynylrez or ump grey same thing), zenith white primer, get a suitable green or blue colour (i use inks) several light layers, done, you will spend more time basing than painting
completelly agree. if I woul play big fantasy that would be gost army for me.
Mythic battles really is quite awesome, a game which certainly would never have existed in such depth if it weren’t for Kickstarter.
I agree with Justin starting with the core box of Mythic Battles but with 4 players I have the feeling that the options are to limited and that some players can’t choose their full RP in models.
Each player doesn’t draft 12pts of units in a four player game.
@redben We used the 14pts total per player for a 4-player game stated in skirmish mode.
But 2 of the players went troop heavy, all the mid tier monsters and heroes were chosen, only Achilles and the hydra were left at the end.
Played a 4 Player game with 14points each on Saturday with the core box, it was only Hercules and the Infernal warriors not selected. I won the game with just Ares, Hydra and Achilles its a brutal combo 🙂
The game has so many different facets to it an combinations that it has huge replaybility even with just the core box
Omos and Dynami. Conjoined twin titans.

@warzan I drove Routs 66 twice the first time my father bough a 66 Oldmobile Toronado in Indiana and we drove it back to San Francisco where he lived. Amazing experience but with no air conditioning we had to do a lot of the desert driving (and there is a lot) early in the morning as it was just too hot during the day to be in the car, it took us 12 days. The second time we took both of my sisters and rented a modern cadillac. We did it at a very leisurely pace and it took 18 days (the air con really helped!). Both trips were the most memorable holidays I have ever had.
The might Kong would be a King amongst Titans 🙂
This one is for Justin. Thank me later
http://blackhandpainting.blogspot.com.au/2016/11/kingdom-death-stone-effect-tutorial.html
HA from the amount of minsi sitting around i probably should not join this contest 😀
Titan as to be a giant Woolly mammoth to keep Justin Happy. Maybe 3 sets of tusks and legs to give it a more ominous appearance.
Káltsos is a minor Titan unconcerned with the power struggles of the his kin. Staying out of harm’s way, even during the rise and fall of the Olympian gods he lives on today, subsisting on a diet of odd socks (to this day the modern Greeks use his name for socks).
So every time you’ve hung up your socks, with one missing, you’ve had a visitation from the still-living Káltsos.
It would seem better to have a dedicated forum for this upcoming prize challenge. Since it will go on for 5+ weeks it is very easy to loose track of where all the entries would reside especially if we are also to vote for other members’ entries as well. Even for the first challenge which is to describe a titan, don’t that we want all those in the comments as they can all be easily lost. In my opinion it would be good to have a challenge forum for this.
A thread is already up and running. Copy any entries there as well as here.

Ben should build up a nice Rohirim force…. best of both worlds.
HAPPY SODDIN SUNDAY…SO GOOD TO HAVE YOU ALL BACK…..!!
On the stripper @waran is correct it’s http://www.biostrip.co.uk I’ve seen a few people use this on youtube seems to come up a treat. Apparently it’s also magic for getting rid of wood chip so I’m tempted to try it for both!
It’s good stuff. There has quite a few discussions about it on the BoW forums
@brennon no Saga! On the day the announce the release date for second edition (well the month anyway, roll on February) @lloyd are you going to put up with this? Shocking, and they let kids watch this show.
@thisisazrael if some Sunday you fancy doing a bit of painting instead of gaming let me know, you can play about with different effects and techniques, like @dignity and his airbrush you just need to get in there up to the oxters and give it ago. You know what they say, the man who never made a mistake, never made anything.
He must have got a touch of the sun poor lad!. Maybe the rumoured fantasy supplement will bring him back
Ben are you not affraid you may loose your job?
Well…if it makes it any better I’ll still play it, just not buying any more models for it :p
It makes me feel a little better yes. 🙂
Obviously we are not going to talk about this with out you Mr Gerry! 😛
good man, how’s the Rome build coming along?
😉
talk to him quickly, finger hovering over the ‘unfriend’ button 😉
Typhon Bundle giveaway:
Rhea – Mother of Gods
Once Queen of Heaven and wife to Kronus, Rhea watched in terror as her husband ate their children because a prophecy warned him he would be overthrown by his child. She spared Zeus, who in turn defeated Kronus and banished most of the Titans.
By order of the God of Gods, she was to be spared. But her other children despised the fact that she had allowed their imprisonement. Against Zeus’ command, Poseidon and Hades trapped their mother in Tartarus.
For years, she believed they did the right thing. But as time went on and her suffering increased at the hands of Kronus, her hatred for her own sons grew.
Now she is free, her hatred guiding her every move.
Physical form:
Tortured by the Titans in Tartarus, Rhea has been deformed. Her soul removed from her body and changed, it hovers over her with a look of agony. Her hands are chained and her eyes have been removed – a punishement from Kronus for tricking him into thinking he had swallowed Zeus, when instead he ate a rock.
Game Design:
Offense 8
Defense 9
Range 2
Movement 2
? 7
Vitality 10
(can always use powers, albeit number of dice reduces to 5)
Talents:
Gem collector (as if her soul managed to reach the other areas)
Initiative (her sharp senses allow her to attack pre-emptively)
Mighty Throw (the power of her soul pushes the enemies away)
Powers:
Ever vigilant – when a unit enters either a surrounding area or Rhea’s area, they immediately suffer an X dice attack that cannot be guarded or retaliated. (the absence of her eyes for so many years has sharpened her senses)
Devourer of souls (one art of war) – Rhea removes one vitality from a unit in her area and recovers one vitality.
Filicide (two arts of war) – If Poseidon and/or Hades are present, Rhea makes an X dice area attack on their areas, regardless of distance. No talents or powers can be used to protect Poseidon or Hades.
Happy sunday!
Well, since it’s full blown winter here in Québec and i can’t prime, because it would stink up the house! (and still haven’t received my pledge yet), i have about 3 months to make up my mind on how i will paint my Mythic Battle (fortunatly, i don’t have a Typhon pledge 😉 )… Guys, all your ideas are fun to contemplate and i will but, i’m thinking also the army painter method, like spartans first, 2 similar gods next and so on…
As for my titan, i’ll have to think about it and come back to post later on the week…
And the world is set to rights again, Happy Sunday everyone. I would love it if Lloyd turns up at Ben’s door in person to demand why 😀
Stuck my made up Titan story here as Tim has put up a thread.
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/backstage-green-room/forum/topic/xlbs-14-01-18-titan-entries/
You should paint the Mythic models properly, as the detail being nice and crisp, there is not much of it, takes no time at all.
Connemarra is Green Marble from Galway. They have it in their Cathedral. I think I have also seen it in Irish gift shops as wee keyfobs.
There was a purple ‘imperial’ marble excavated by the Romans in the Eastern Desert of Egypt.
The best new ‘Titan’ character would be the ‘Buddhist Hercules’ – the demi-god came with the Greco-Macedonian conquerors to the Indus Region and then travelled to China as a Bodhisattva (its like the god-aspects in the novel American Gods).
Here is Vajrapani the muscular Temple Guardian who is usually painted blue…
Here’s a link to my new Titan video. Omos and Dynami the conjoined twin children of Atlas and Gaia.
https://youtu.be/pLwkr0MhVvo
Ben, so much a GW fanboy 😉
I do love those GW LotR/Hobbit miniatures – interestingly you could probably run the Battle Companies using the growing Oathmark range as well actually.
Already contains Tolkien-esque looking Dwarves and Goblins.
oh, I love them too, my favorite range of 28mm – but it was just funny how quickly you dropped SAGA for a similar-size skirmish which probably scratches the same itch but it’s GW! eheh 🙂
great show guys, like the models mythic are bring out.
I’ve been lucky enough to visit the US on a number of occasions, visiting Las Vegas, New York, Austin, L.A, Philadelphia. and San Franciso, all wonderful and unique places worth a visit. I’ve visited San Francisco more than any other US city and I look forward to returning there again, so much wonderful food, baseball, music and fascinating people. However, I would say I actually preferred Toronto in Canada, which I’ve only visited once, but I long to go back, Go Blue Jays!
Regarding a Titan (I sort of cheat, not sure this counts….) Also posted on the dedicated thread…
Unicron is the eternal arch-enemy of his twin brother Primus. Also known as the Lord of Chaos, the Chaos Bringer, and the Planet Eater, he is dedicated to consuming the multiverse. His massive form is powered by the consumption of planets, moons, stars, and even the very fabric of existence. Unicron will not be sated until his ultimate goal is attained: to bring an end to the annoying creation boasting independence around him, and find peace by becoming the living centre of a swirling, infinite torrent of nothingness at the end of all things.
To undertake this seemingly overwhelming task, Unicron is able to travel across realities at will, a meandering plague upon existence itself. Integrated into his systems are incomprehensible quantum computers which calculate probabilities forward and backwards in time, in perpetuity, giving his processors an ever-changing, evolving map of the multiverse. With these abilities at his disposal, Unicron has thus far devoured approximately 22.56% of known universes. Seen at a detached distance from the multiverse, this collective “Unicron Phenomenon” acts with the characteristics of a virus or plague seeping through reality and succeeding where it can and retreating when it cannot. Various permutations of Unicron can spawn into existence outside the trappings of the larger entity, hailing from a more mundane origin but possessing the same consumptive traits. For much of multiversal history, the singularity Unicron threatened all of existence, but now, that is no longer the case, versions of Unicron being restricted to their own dimensions.
The only thing that he fears is Primus’s essence, contained inside the Matrix. To a being of chaos and uncreation, this font of life is a poison.
Frequently, Unicron will make deals with lesser beings, promising them vast new powers in exchange for their servitude. These minions are sometimes stripped entirely of their free will, but others follow him willingly. Service to Unicron, however, is a double-edged sword, for it causes insanity and loss of self. And in the end, Unicron’s plans ultimately call for their consumption as well.
—————
Full disclaimer, that is actually just the transformers wiki entry for Unicron, I just thought mythic battles: Transformers would be a cool cross-over, and Unicron definitely fits the bill as a terrifying massive entity from the dawn of time that wields incredible destructive power.
Dare, dare to believe you can survive!
https://youtu.be/vnqJfxwtlaQ?t=3481
Big mac sauce. try French dressing and sweet pickle relish it is pretty close. You can do a google search for copy cat big mac sauce.
The forgotten Titan of Gaea and Uranus who was the fraternal twin of Mnemosyne (Titaness of memory and remembrance).
Xechasmenos (Hermaphroditic Titan of loss and the forgotten) was born invisible and also was also born with male and female genitalia. This is keeps the balance between having equal males and females in the first generation of Titans.
@thisisazrael you have intrigued my son and I with your comment / challenge about 10 games, 10 times. Due to work schedules we have modified it by taking it in steps. 5 games, 10 times then another 5 by 10 once we achieve the first. Here is our list:
Fallout (board game)
Star Wars Imperial Assault
Wild West Exodus
Tiny Epic Quest
Elder Sign
2nd 5:
Walking Dead miniatures game
40k 8th Ed.
Ticket to Ride
Rail Raiders Infinite
Ash owns of Brimstone.
Hopefully some of the others on here will take up the challenge as well. Seems like a great way to get some focus on a few games. This will also help me focus on painting goals.
You want a Titan….. well I give you….Titan! Saturn’s largest moon! But wait? That’s no moon…..(it’s a Space station?) it’s a Titan! A child of Uranus (heh heh) thought long dead by the Olympians. Turns out he’s having a bit of a sulk and just hanging around Saturn gathering moisture! And that’s science folks!!! Check it out….. all true I promise!
As for easy painting tips…..you want ivory?
Step 1: Halfords white primer.
Step 2: Varnish (gloss/Matt…. whatever?)
Step 3: Thinned down AK interactive Streaking Grime
Step 4: Clean up/remove with cotton bud dipped in thinners!
Step 5: Bask in your Hobby God glory!!!
I swear by enamel washes now, try the above method but with Humbrol Black Wash (enamel) on Storm Troopers! Did my imperial assault troopers in a matter of minutes and they look awesome! White/Ivory is now the easiest colour to get awesome results with minimum effort! Try it on Death Guard! It’s good shit!!!
The Fifth wheel, is for Camper Trailer,
@dignity I thought of some possible Mythic Battles color scheme ideas that should be fairly volume friendly 🙂
– If you decided to use only a single metallic color (Bronze or Iron, for instance) you could show the different power levels/classes through the level of weathering. The Gods are the most polished and shiny going progressively down through the Troops being the most patina-ed and corroded.
– You could use Gold, Silver, Bronze, Copper, and Iron w/ rust to distinguish from silver.
– If you decide to stick with the color-coded marble scheme, consider gold as a replacement for yellow. I just can’t picture any sort of yellow marble that looks good. It’s quite probable that golden marble is completely mythical, but they are gods after all.
I have played the game with a friend, and although I have seen the shows on BOW, it doesn’t really dawn on you how strategic and tactical this game can really be! I also like dogs with multiple heads!
I will definitely buy into their next Kickstarter for the Norse gods.
I want that Typhone bundle! This game rocks!
My Titan? First of all, Atlas is an absolute beast! Maybe making up an intellectual Titan could be a nice match for this brute!
Sophia – Titan of Wisdom. She won’t have much in the way of offense or defense, but she has range 2 and can move 2. Talents: Initiative, Climb. Powers: 1) Celerity (she ignores all powers and talents that might affect her movement); 2) Cogito Ergo Sum (1 AoW card; As a complex action, Sophia can move instantly from jer space to any other space on the board to which Sophia might otherwise normally be able to occupy).
There are somethings that are so disturbing that they are etched in your mind….. That photo of Warren licking a mound of boxes is one of them…………….. urchhh ….. anyway finally got around to watching this. Thanks lads and Happy ..belated Sunday … (read as Monday … which is never the happiest day of the week ….)
@warzan I can confirm that its the Grand mac on the 7th of feb
@brennon – no Ben, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Thanks so much for the button *beams* And for another fantastic show 🙂
@warzan, if you ever come over here to the US, please let me know, there are some places I’d love to show you. 😀 I don’t know too much about Steak n’ Shake (sorry @dignity 😀 ), although I admit I used to like eating there as a younger man.
Then again, I don’t really eat McDonalds anymore, either. For a diner who’s still a fan of the Big Mac, Steak n’ Shake might be a good bet. 😀
Good call on the Dodge, I assume you’re talking about the Dodge Charger. The new Avengers and Camaros are nice, as well. 😀
In all seriousness, Area 51 is still a highly classified site with no-friggin’-joke security (they WILL shoot you), but surrounding it there are plenty of small, roadside tourist traps and shops.
Honestly, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. is a better place to look at aerospace history. Gladesrunner and I are always trying to get to Kennedy Space Center just two hours up the road from where we live (at Cape Canaveral, Florida).
Put my entry in the link above
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/backstage-green-room/forum/topic/xlbs-14-01-18-titan-entries/
Also, EPIC WORK by @suetoniuspaullinus on the late war US Marine, 1:23:00. Very nice. You do the Corps proud. 😀
You guys will have to post proper painting tutorials for the Mythic Battle models at some point. There are some neat and unique techniques that can be pulled off.
Great Weekender!!!!
Even if ‘My Sweet Nuts’ were discussed at length!
Funny thing Az I went to see Star Wars in Cookstown and must have had the same annoying kid kicking the back of my chair!!!!!
Justin if you like Steak and Shake in the U.S. wait till you try a Chick Fi La. Absolutely the best Chicken Sandwhich in the world!!!!
When you try it just get the number one combo as it comes!
Battle Companies BEN!!!!! It is awesome, I spent this Sunday Weekender painting on my Dwarven Warband!!!! Just finished a Rohan war band before that one. Have Gondor, High Elves and Haradrim on the table next!!!!!
I also can’t wait to get stuck into some battle companies!!!!!
I’m with Justin on the rattle cans, quick and easy and you just have to learn how to use it sparingly. I’m more about getting a paint job I’M HAPPY WITH! I’m long past trying to please others or being envious of other paint jobs. I’ll admire the heck out of them but am happy painting at my level.
Don’t worry Az, if I come back to Ireland to visit the wife’s family again next year I’ll bring some more of the nuts!!!
They are Mandolin nuts coated in honey, butter and one of the bags I brought had cinnamon in it too!
Once again great show guys!!!!
Almost forgot my Titan
Hands down would be a giant Yorkshire Terrier!!! With two heads and four long tails that had Siamese cat heads on them.
Of course all the heads would have razor sharp teeth and the feet would have Claws that came out like Daggers!!!!!!
Underneath the fur it would have Dragon Scales that you could only see from the underside because of the long Yorkie Fur!!!!!!!
Hands Down the most vicious Titan Ever!!!!!
I’d call it The Rapier!!!!
Warren the Titans.
Very little is know about this Titans but everywhere he goes he bring thunderous laughter and no one, God or mortal want to fight him since they all want to play and have fun with him. Warren the Titan is the only Titan that can outdrink Dionysus (Dionysos) the god of wine.
His only weakness is the dangerous Mushroom, that tiny spore with it’s weird shape, have broken Warren on many occasions and his laughter was heard across the world and the only time we saw a Warren run out in the distance far far away.
Warren the titan is probably still alive today sleeping under Mount Olympus, having dream of spreading his joy of life to all the beasties of the world.
When discussing Tom Delonge and aliens I always think of the song “Aliens Exist” by Blink 182 where Tom actually sings about aliens.
An awesome titan for the Burrows & Badgers game would be a Full size unicorn completely to scale with the rest of the range.
Great show guys, glad to have my weekenders back 🙂
Decided not to upgrade my pledge to the titan level last year and backed something else on kickstarter instead. After a few games I’m very much thinking I should have done both :).
Titan Pledge entry here and in the thread.
Thyllellaus – Titan of the Wind
While striding far above most who would oppose his quest for power, Thyllellaus is human like in appearance apart from his largely out of proportion chest and thick corded neck.
Gameplay wise I can see him having a board effecting ability along the lines of Atlas, but I would be thinking either a board effecting spell requiring an additional art of war card to be discarded until the controllers next turn for any fliers wishing to evade (take that Icarus
Cut myself off there.
His more basic attack would be a single target attack that would add +2 dice against fliers due to the buffeting winds
Put my entry in the linked thread
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/backstage-green-room/forum/topic/xlbs-14-01-18-titan-entries/
Ben maybe try crackle medium its the same as GW’s paint but you get a ton more for your money and can just mix it with whatever color you want it. You can find it at any art supply store or amazon has it also.
I would say the army building in Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40k 8th are as open as they were before. Its all key words and while you can really zero in on a faction to gain special rules and items you can field essentially whatever you want. While 7th had the campaign supplements and the data sheets but you could just take from a single codex its even more free in 8th its essentially unbound now. Or Age of Sigmar really only has 4 factions that all the models fit into. Within these grand alliances you can take and mix anything. For instances in Order you could have Stormcast, Elves, Dwarves, and humans all in a legal Order army or you can just have all Dispossessed units. You can zoom in or out as much as you want.
I backed Mythic BAttles Pantheon so while I don’t have everything thats in that pledge I’ll leave this competition for someone who maybe missed the kickstarter to win.
I’m with @thisisazrael. Boardgames are great. And so is Alhambra!
My Titan is Cthaeghya. She went mad and was imprisoned by her siblings in a dark void. She writes in her cage which cause the seas to quake. She waits for the day the Fates have forseem for her freedom. Let the world beware that fateful day.
Very late to the party here! Will try and watch the BSXL faster next week.
Pleased to say that if I won I would share it out with another potential winner (or at least I’d ask Beasts to do so) as I already have some of the boxes so I could donate the base game and other bits to some other deserving soul.
My titan would have to be an ice titan. I always love cold armies and subtle blue colouration.
The glacier began to shift beneath their feet. Slowly a creaking, followed by a cracking, announced the danger they were in. The beautiful turquoise ice reflected the aurora overhead as it came to life and a giant arm arose from the ground. Boulders, long hidden below the glacier, were lifted into the air frozen to the bottom of the arm. Each digit was 10 times the size of the men that now fled before this awakening monstrosity of cold death. A second arm flew into the air arising from the cold, winter water and sending a thunderous wave down onto their ship. Few options were left to the small force of soldiers and so they fled away from the arms down the length of the arising giant. Immense shoulders towered above them, the face of the creature where a man’s chest would be, features made of broken shards and immense frozen caverns. A deep blue light burst into being in three caves as the men lost their footing. Barely having reached the abdomen of the titan the piteous creatures were thrown hundreds of feet into the chilling winds before crashing to the bare earth from whence the monster had arisen. Dashed to their deaths, none were left to see the titan reach it’s full height and turn North towards their homes…
Keration – Titan of the Forests
Keration is the Greek name of the Carob tree, and has power over all trees and woodlands / plants.
Able to crush bone and stone alike, Keration was ordered by the gods to ensure there was enough wood for both them and their human subjects to use for the purpose of building both houses, and ships with which to both defend Greece and attack other civilizations, and ensure plants were in abundance for food and medicinal purposes.
Kerations powers also included being able to send roots under enemy fortifications and aid in their destruction by pulling down walls.
When instructed by Zeus, Keration appears as a mighty tree with many arms and hands with which to both defend and attack, and like the Hydra’s head, if it loses an arm he can simply grow another, whilst another tree sprouts up from the list ‘limb’.
Suseptible to fire based attacks.
ξεχασμένος the Forgotten
No one knows the full details of his birth or who he is descended from. He did not follow his brothers and sisters into imprisonment as his ability to be overlooked knew no equal. It is said that he will be the first to see oblivion and the end of all things and the last to know its’ embrace. No one that has seen him remembers what he(?) looked like.
He has the ability to redirect the attacks of enemies by making them forget the target that they had originally picked. He can block the special actions of others by the wave of his hand.
My titan choice if i would ever know to sculptt Will be Thamis titán of justice with a balance and a flaming sword, spiked crown/ helmet But no bandage on eyes thus os a modern representation
Elementus: Titan of the Elements
Picture a titan made up of earth, air, fire, and water, but in a changing pattern, one minute The legs are stone and fire resembling magma, and the next they are like Ice made of water and air. For a model you could do it as one leg earth, one leg water, one arm fire, one arm air (think cyclone) Head would be ice and stone for the face and neck, the open mouth and eyes would be fire and the hair would be wisps of wind and cloud.
The Forgotten Titan
All the villagers could do was stand and watch as the walk ways of the harbour crumbled into the sea. From the froth of the ocean rose up an almighty being blocking out the rising sun and casting a shadow over the village. The thud of the creatures footsteps caused the village buildings to shake and the pots to smash. This creature was not known to them they were used to hunting whales and ancient sea serpents but this was bigger and more terrifying. What the villagers didn’t realise was they were the first to set eyes upon a titan that had been lost for a millennia. Even the gods thought he had perished at the creation of the earth. Like his brother Atlas he had 4 arms but the pressures and punishment of the ocean had been less kind. His bottom set of arms were now claws of a giant crab and he had found shelter in a giant sea crabs shell. His legs had twisted into an array of tentacles and claws. The world had forgetting that he was the hero who had held back the waves from destroying the land. They had forgetting that his sacrifice had saved mankind. They had forgotten that through his heroism he had been thrown to his watery prison. Now they would remember and now they would see the power of ATLANTIS. His deafening cry brought the villagers to their knees, ATLANTIS then heaved himself out of the ocean his eyes were set for Olympus.
Please forgive the tardiness. I watched the show last week, but honestly forgot about. Not just any *forgot* tho, one brought on by not on my Grandmother going to ER & having an extended hospital stay but my Dad, as well.
It was only the reminder in this current weeks Weekender that made me realize I’d completely forgotten.
Anyway, my Titan is Ignis. He’s usually at Earths Core, keeping the fires burning. But he’s not just a Forge or Hearth type Titan. He’s responsible for everything that involves *ignition*. So the fires from the Earths heart to everything else, lightning, natural or manmade sparks, etc.
He’s a big molten agglomeration approximating an armoured warrior. But with largely amorphous identifying featues. Part Avatar of Khaela Mensha Khaine, part cooling magma, part fire & brimstone & sulfur & ash.
I imagine his works at the center of the Earth to be of the sort of activity of this: https://youtu.be/RWxL5qBsBRg
But with a much darker aesthetic like: https://youtu.be/SLCuL-K39eQ
Happy to see everyone once again and a wonderful look at everything.
My titan would be called Abyssinius and be the son of Oceanus and Tethys representing the deepest part of the River Okeanos that encircled the world. When he was born he sank deep into the River and grew on the bottom with all of the life from the deep sea amalgamating them into his growing body. His hair would be like tentacles from an giant squid and his lower half would be like a massive crab. His torso would have hydrothermal vent like protrusions while in smaller locations there would be coral like branches. Along his body would be shark like scales which can also function as armour if needs be. Clutched in his left hand would be a sawblade type blade with barbed serrations from either side while his other clutches a conch type shell for added protection. There is a shark like look to his face with pointed teeth and flattened nose. Angular eyes tell the story that he is a apex predator and those that come before him feel like they are simply the next thing that is going to be his prey.
Aztitanous
A titan with a voracious need to play games with mortals, spends much time enjoying to frolic, and is overall a very jovial titan. Mortals must be careful in a game of wit where they may be crushed under the weight of knowledge that Aztitanous possess.
There is but one vulnerable trait or weakness… John’s sweet nuts!
@warzan, do we write, sculpt, convert, ? how do we get the new titan/God prospect idea to you?
