Wil Wheaton & Friends Play Shadows Over Camelot
October 5, 2013 by brennon
On Wil Wheaton's Tabletop this week he has roped in the Penny Arcade fellows and Tara Strong for a game called Shadows Over Camelot by Days of Wonder which has you playing the Knights of the Round Table trying to protect the Kingdom from evil...or damning it to ruin!
You will be undertaking quests by crossing the land in search of the Holy Grail and Excalibur or maybe fighting off invasions from the deadly Picts and Saxons. But that's not all you have to content with as a traitor waits within your ranks trying to bring the Kingdom of Briton to an end.
While this doesn't have the deep interplay between people as something like Battlestar Galactica it does look like a pretty fantastic take on the hidden traitor game mechanic that is becoming more apparent nowadays. It's also set in a fantasy world so I automatically like it more!
Watch and find out who the traitor is! Try not to spoil it for people folks!
Drop your comments below chums!
Watched it on Friday
If you haven’t seen it yet, this episode is a must!!!
Apart from anything else, Tara is voice actor for Timmy of Fairly Odd Parents fame and what more reason would you want to watch than that Except that Mike and Jerry from Acquisitions Inc are also on the show!!
You know. I’ve always had a hard spot for Tara Strong.
Behave! This is a family show! lol
So’s most of the stuff she does voices for. “Muwahhahhahhaaaaaa” *evil laugh”
lol
Sorry couldn’t help it. :-p
I wonder if I am the only one that saw the name “Shadows over camelot” and my first thought was Arthurian knights fighting Flying polyp eldritch horrors….well, im kind of dissapointed it isn’t that, but this game looks like a lot of fun anyhow!
Nope. I thought that too. lol
not as disappointed I was when there was no Hank Marvin et al
I really liked this episode and Shadows over Camelot is a game I highly recommend. The traitor twist does add a fun element and depending on who gets the card can make for a really great game. Also, Tara Strong is the voice for Twilight on the new My Little Pony. Not sure if MLP is as popular in the UK as here in the States, but my youngest daughter is all about it, so she has actually watched the episode several times!
MLP has been a franchise well loved by little girls here since the 80’s
And by big boys and grown men since the tensies.
Each to their own, but I still don’t get the appeal of pastel ponies wearing bell and bottoms farting rainbows for the latter demographic.
