More Adventurers Come To Life From Dark Sword Miniatures
May 17, 2016 by brennon
Dark Sword Miniatures have a whole cast of new characters on the way for their Fantasy games. These are all part of their ongoing Masterwork Collection and would be great characters for you to snap up and paint for your own collection. We'll kick things off with an Ancient Wizard...
Embracing the spirit of Gandalf and all of those old school Wizards we have a rather fantastic looking chap calling on power from above. I really like the sculpting detail that has been worked into the beard and his furrowed brow.
Next up we have an Elf Warrior With Sword looking like he is about to get stuck into combat. He comes with a rather small looking shield, more of a buckler really, but I guess it would suit a more lithe and agile fighting style.
Following up from him we have the Dwarf Warrior With Axe who has been sculpted in a similar style with the small shield and in a battle pose. They could be from the same scene in fact. I do like seeing more Dwarves!
It's time to leave the martial behind now and look towards the arcane with this Daemonkin Mage. He looks like a rather dangerous fellow and comes with a sword too meaning he could probably cut you down if the magic failed him.
I love the painting here showing off the lighting from the flames in his hand - I'd love to try and attempt something like that but I'd be afraid of simply ruining the miniature!
Slinking around in the shadows we also have another miniature from a race not too often sculpted. The Dragonkin Rogue is looking sly; sneaking around with some very deadly looking blades. He would be my choice from this whole collection.
To round things off we have a bit of music with the Female Bard with Violin. She might not exactly be dressed for a battle but I could see her as an NPC character that you run into when on your adventures.
Maybe her music will bestow you with great boons and guide you on your way?
Which adventurer would you pick out as your favourite?

Very Pretty.
Very nice and great work on the painting.
Very nice.
Christ…I already have like 20 minis waiting on my “to buy” list from DS miniatures and now these are coming. I need more money and more time to paint =)
Gorgeous. Always loved this company’s mini’s for high end PC’s/heroes.
Dark Sword definitely goes above and beyond.
Dark Sword miniatures are by far some of the most enjoyable minis to paint. Great detail in the armour through to the faces. Great proportions in the sculpts and realist poses… obviously not the Critter Kingdoms, but even they look fun.
I love the wizard.
They all look very good and the painting is top notch. The only thing I wish is that the bases were not cast as part of the model. It makes it hard to add the model to a diorama.
The Bard is absolutely fantastic going to have to pick her up
