Lucid Eye’s The Red Book Of The Elf King Pre-Orders Open
April 24, 2018 by brennon
Lucid Eye Publishing has now opened up pre-orders for The Red Book Of The Elf King. The pre-order period runs through until the end of May and offers you up a chance to pick up a range of characters and more to get you started in their Fantasy skirmish game by Rick Priestley.
If you want to find out more about The Elf King then you can either check out our article on it HERE, or head on over to their website where they have talked more in-depth about the background of the game, the various Circles of Elves, and how it all comes together HERE.
The game has an awesome feel and design to it, especially when you start looking into the backgrounds of the various Elf Thanes you're going to be playing as. With that in mind, it behoves me to tell you that they have a host of pre-order deals for you to check out, namely starting with this big one.
Yes, that gets you absolutely everything you would ever need to play the game as you look at the various circles, the outlying characters from other races and more. However, you don't have to dive in headfirst as there are options for you to pick up warband sets which give you individual Elf Thanes and their retinue of Companions.
You can also pick up deals for The Trolls and the Urdane Mortals too, each with their own characters leading the way. Make sure to check out their webstore HERE for more information.
Are you going to be getting stuck into this game?

Damn do I like seeing Red Book of the Elf King news on this page.
I’ve been collecting the range as they’ve been releasing stuff. Looking forward to getting this up and running.
I think I’m going to get the Full Game Pre-Order Deal and the Companions Pre-Order Set as I already have Salian, Lowic and Orelea – then that means I can just buy additional Thanes as I see fit since you only ever need six Companion units.
I like that the game is self-contained like that, although I am looking forward to seeing what other creatures they create for this world and how the Mortals/Trolls work too.
I’ll probably get a second set of six companions, eventually, so I can have a complete 2 player setup. In addition to the six thanes, and two secondary factions – Trolls, and Humans.
I’m interested in seeing if they plan on adding to the range. But I do really like that it feels like they’ve got a complete range already that doesn’t need further expanding.
I love the minis but for a small game it seems like quite a pricey buy-in.
Still, I am intrigued to hear more about it.
Hi Lostegg!
We have devised deals around different buy in points, the lowest being £24.00 and the highest being £230.00, which is the deal being advertised above.
I hope this helps 🙂
Cool. What is the minimum model count for a game then?
We have added an introduction scenario which only requires three sets of Companions and a Thane – so 10 figures in total. A full game requires 19 figures in total a side. Which is six sets of Companions and a Thane 🙂
The paint job makes the figure’s stand out well.
there is just something about The Elf King that feels special. a deep mythology from an ancient time that, like Tolkien’s Silmarillion, has a real weight to it. everything about the game exudes the ancient magic of the fae. the choice of aesthetic is nothing short of brilliant, the artwork we’ve seen along with the presentation have been just about prefect. the distinct old school flavour of the miniatures is another masterstroke that further cements the feeling that the game its self came out of the shifting mists of forgotten time. having them hand sculpted in metal with pre slotta… Read more »
