Battletech Battle Report by blipvertus

We start off this week's Community Spotlight with a bit of a battle report. We do love a battle report. This one is made all the more awesome as it is a Battletech clash where blipvertus got to take to the tabletop against one of their pals.

BattleTech Battle Report #1 by blipvertus

This is the force that made it to the tabletop. There is a big ol' mech suit in the mix (of course) followed by a bevvy of vehicles forming the spearhead of the force. By comparison, the opposition here was a set of four jump-capable mechs that could hop around the map!

BattleTech Battle Report #2 by blipvertus

This was a straight-up fight based around a hex map as you can see. It featured a larger urban area as well as plenty of rural areas to explore too. The clash appeared to focus very quickly into the centre of the city and the battle report is a fun read. There is a neat set of pictures showing off the miniatures in the heart of the action.

You also have this awesome top-down picture showing off the clash as all of these vehicles got stuck into the fighting together.

BattleTech Battle Report #3 by blipvertus

It is well worth diving deeper into this battle report and reading it in full. I hope this is just one of many battle reports from blipvertus looking at more games of Battletech. It's especially cool to see the two sides clashing over a nice, colourful tabletop.

Aeronautica Imperialis by dammitprawn

Next up, dammitprawn has been working away on some painting for the equally small scale Aeronautica Imperialis. They have been working on some Aeldari currently including a stunning scheme for the forces of Iyanden.

Aeronautica Imperialis #1 by dammitprawn

As has been pointed out. Are these yellow and blue or blue and yellow? Either way, they are absolutely stunning and I love all the care and attention given to the different segments of the flyer. The way the blue and yellow has been done here is brilliant. I like the way the cockpits have been done too.

The same goes for this awesome Biel-Tan flyer which has also entered their collection.

Aeronautica Imperialis #2 by dammitprawn

The forces of the Aeldari are not the only ones to find themselves on dammitprawn's painting table. The Xenos forces of the Orks are also soaring through the skies in their slightly less elegant craft.

Aeronautica Imperialis #3 by dammitprawn

The painting is equally as good here, if not more so. I love that rich red and how it contrasts so nicely with the metallics for the engines and those little spots of yellow. dammitprawn really seems to like the Xenos side of things as there are also some Necrons getting painted up too!

Marienburg Mercenaries by firelock22

Last but not least, we have firelock22 who has been getting me excited for more Oldhammer goodness. Here are some of the Marienburg Mercenaries they are working on that will form the basis of an army to use with the Mantic Games Kings Of War rules.

Marienburg Mercenaries #1 by firelock22

The first of the miniatures isn't strictly a Marienburger. Here we have the Bright Wizard who is going to be lending their magical talents to this army on the tabletop. A great old school sculpt which really brings to life the wild nature of the College Of Fire.

This miniature also shows off the test scheme that will eventually find its way onto all of the miniatures from this collection. Whilst I would never side with the money-grubbing forces of Marienburg, I do like their scheme!

Marienburg Mercenaries #2 by firelock22

A few quirky miniatures have also found their way into their collection too. We have this piece of very hazardous-looking artillery that is at the ready to blow someone away. This is going to count as a ballista during gameplay.

Marienburg Mercenaries #3 by firelock22

I love the idea that someone in the academy decided this was a good idea. "Yes, put your foot on it. It won't blow up and knock you over I assure you". This is a nice, fun and inventive miniature that works with the idea of the more naval-focused Marienburgers.
