Community Spotlight: Contrast Painting, Haqqislam Heroines & Furry Tutorials!

...make sure to always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.

Contrast Wanderer & Livestream by laughingboy

We start off with a bit of a community stalwart. laughingboy recently took to Twitch to showcase painting with the Contrast range by Games Workshop. This was the result as one of the Wanderer models from the Age Of Sigmar range came to life!

Contrast Wanderer #1 by laughingboy

This shows off just what Contrast paints can do. This miniature came together pretty quickly by all accounts and I think most people would be happy with this being their tabletop quality model. More than the finish on the model, this was a great stream to catch up on and chat hobby. With us all being isolated right now, livestreams like this are well worth tuning in to and hopefully, we'll see more from laughingboy in the future.

Getting back to the miniature though, it is looking pretty awesome! I particularly like the way the gold has come out plus the way the hunting bird has been painted as it lifts away from his hand.

Contrast Wanderer #2 by laughingboy

I have been tinkering with some Contrast paints myself and once you get a hang of how to use them, they are well worth playing around with. They do make miniatures very quick to paint and it works nicely on both characters and larger regiments of troops. So, as well as a great looking miniature we've also got a neat community member to follow on Twitch too!

The Tariqas by shingen

Next up we're looking at a piece of awesome Infinity work by shingen. This project has been rumbling along well and one of the latest figures is for this Haqqislam character. The detail work here is superb and well worth taking a closer look at.

Tariqas #1 by shingen

This miniature has come together very nicely from that very well finished skin tone through to her colourful outfit. I particularly like the care and attention given around her facial features and being able to pick out her eyes so perfectly! The model gets even better once you look at her from a different angle.

Tariqas #2 by shingen

Here you can see all of the extra detail work that has gone into her coat and the headwrap that she has on. This really adds another level to the character and it seems like just the kind of thing you should be doing when working on these unique and exquisite Infinity sculpts.

I really like the base that has been used here too. That patterned floor is really nice and helps give you an impression of where she is in the world. I love the idea that even the world around the characters in Infinity is bright and vibrant.

Burrows & Badgers Painting Tutorials by dane001

Finally, we're back to the video content and the work of dane001 how has been putting together their own video tutorials when painting up Burrows & Badgers miniatures. Five tutorials have been finished so far and they are a great way to get some hints on how to paint these wonderful miniatures.

All of these tutorials are packed with a bunch of hints and tips that you could use to paint these specific miniatures and more from the range.

As with our look at what laughingboy has been up to, it would be neat to see dane001 continue with this work and produce more painting tutorials for Burrows & Badgers and beyond. Make sure to go and give the videos a watch and a thumbs up!
