@warzan – in 1990 I too thought Extreme were at the poseur-y end of “metal”. And I was a big fan of Poison and Motley Crue at the time! (I don’t think the Black Album had been released and Cowboys From Hell hadn’t really had much traction by this time so we didn’t really have “proper” metal to compare to, but even then, Extreme were a bit poseur-y).
But listening back to Pornografitti now, there’s some good stuff on there.
I fear that peer pressure probably influenced my listening choices more than I’d care to admit (being a Poison fan amongst my peers was more like an act of defiance).
Of course, we all had a go at learning More Than Words at some point, just because it got you lots of attention from the girls 😉 So some of us were thankful to Extreme, even if we didn’t particularly like them.
I might just check out their latest album, off the back of your recommendation.
Its a great album the guitar tone is superb and the vocals etc are top notch 🙂

Personally, I’m glad GW sent out the C&D when they did. I very nearly bought some Warhammer models for the first time in ages. After hearing about this, I decided they could get fecked and I bought some scale models instead.
