Fifth Angel Studios acquires MERCS IP

From top to bottom, Global Corporate Court (GCC), CCC Yellowjackets, EU Inc., East India Corporation, Keizai Waza, Kemvar and Union of Soviet Corporate Republics (USCR).

@blipvertus They look great. I dug out my stuff and was a bit disappointed that i’ve actually only finished my EUInc and USCR. So I’m setting out to get some of the others done. First up is the GCC.

I am very excited about this news, I had been hoping that someone would take on the IP and finally do the game justice. MERCS was for a long time my goto skirmish level game and it was a tragedy that support for it died just as it was gaining popularity.

After I saw this announcement I immediately went back and watched all of the BoW (OTT) videos and coverage. It was MERCS that initially brought me to BoW to watch demo games and I quickly subscribed to BACKSTAGE after seeing all the other available content.

It would be smart if the new owners of the IP would reach out to OTT for their help in promoting the game in the future…the videos produced about MERCS are some of the best they had done. (and the hand held battlefield cam is pretty funny looking at it now)

Just last week after the announcement a friend and I broke out our minis and played our first games of MERCS in years. The game is as good and as entertaining as I remember it being…should have never stopped playing

Those are looking great, they are the only faction that as a group we don’t have painted. (and the EU which we don’t own, a faction no one wanted to play…Maybe it has something to do with us being Americans).

I have a game of MERCS schedules for tomorrow night, hopefully I will remember to take some pictures so I can post some gin game action!

@templar5836 EU has some cool perks and some of the nicest models. EIC is one of the factions that only I seem to play. Badly, but I play them.

@innes wow! You paint a lot faster than I do. Those GCC are looking good.
