    Hi folks,

One for the oddities list again – nothing world ending 😉
Started receiving notification emails again yesterday for topics/threads/forums I’m not subscribed to
    Threads are:

Warhead Studio – Resin casted Sci-Fi Terrain for Necromunda, Kill Team, Adeptus

    Experiences with Warmonger miniatures

    Hi guys 🙂

    Sorry for the confusion

It has taken us months to get the email notifications working for the forums so the alerts are probably coming a bit out of the blue for many.

The forums have retained everyone’s previous subscription preferences.

So yeah it’s just down to us finally getting it working as part of the overall upgrade to notifications.

Haven’t had a chance to vlog about it yet!

Getting same and there is no easy “UNSUB” button in the e-mail so you might be get pulled up on the old GDPR issue now for that. Not to mention we’re not subbed to those notifications.

Also you might want to check your password reset for accounts out. As once reset and logging back in, you get directed to the admin console

    https://www.beastsofwar.com/wp-admin/

Luckly the user can’t do anything though.

There is a subscribe/unsubscribe button at the top of each forum topic and the top of each individual forum.

~The system only sends (unless there is a bug we are unaware of) to folk that have been subscribed to the relevant forums (this carried over from the last platform so if you were subscribed to a particular forum on there, its the same on here (because its the same underlying database each platform calls from)

Thanks for the heads up about the password reset we’ll get straight on that. 🙂 (Very much appreciated!)

On the GDPR front we have details here in the privacy centre: https://www.beastsofwar.com/privacy-centre/ and we have processes in there for dealing with data etc 🙂

ah … I think I see what may have happened.

The ‘notify me of follow-up replies via email’ is checked by default.

This probably might have caused me to subscribe to certain topics/forums even though I was convinced I had everything disabled in the old forums.

Thanks Warren. Not being an arse just don’t want you all getting hit with GDPR crap but you need a clear unsub button in the e-mails which there isn’t one, as far as I’m aware. And when I do go to the page I got an e-mail about it doesn’t say I’m subbed.

I’m getting notifications for random posts I have never subscribed too. Screenshot_20181109-204220_Chrome

As you can see I am not subscribed to this. Please fix.

    @blackspiral

Check if you are subscribed to the forum itself.

    Here is how it works.

If you are subscribed to the individual forum you will get a notification when a new topic starts. (nothing further on the topic unless you reply or subscribe to it)

If you are subscribed to a topic you will get a notification of replies

Both forums and topics have subscribe/unsubscribe buttons at the top on the right hand side 🙂
