A Superb Panther & Some World Of Tanks Style Action...

Not only have we got this rather superb looking Panther painted up very nicely indeed but a moment that would be worthy of World of Tanks.

The Tiger zoomed past the train only to be spotted by the Hellcat from between the carriages. A shot was fired that simply bounced off the Tiger's rear. The Tiger, sensing a problem, went into full reverse and aimed through the same gap!

The Tiger took his shot and even with a Recce Move from the Hellcat it wasn't enough. It bit the dust with a round right through the front of the hull.

The Tiger might be the most feared, but to me the Panther is the sleekest, sexist tank of the war.

I agree, @doomrider, the Panther is the seckzy.

I agree with doomrider. I would pick the Panther over the Tiger.

We all know the Hellcat let him win.

This is the kind of moment that makes a game memorable. As this is the second mention of a Hellcat being destroyed I get the impression that the Hellcats at this Bootcamp are having a bad day.

Wow, that’s amazing work. By hand, or airbrushed. Either way, came out great!

Thanks (Or Tanks as the case may be!)

I based this Panther on that of Karl Nicolussi Leck, a German Panther Ace with the 5th Panzer Division “Wiking”.

I primed it with Black first, gave it a complete coat of Vallejo Khaki, and then laid on the Camouflage pattern with an Airbrush, using Black Brown and Castellan Green.

For the weathering, I chose to add some detail to the Zimmerate by replicating parts of the paint, and actually paste, chipping off. I used Codex Grey (Or whatever the new equivalent is), Panzer Ace’s Japanese Tank Crew highlight, and Castellan Green mixed with the Highlight.

I washed the Zimmerate in Burnt Umber oils, applied pin washes of AK Interactive’s Dark Wash for NATO vehicles to all the recesses, chipped it with Black Brown and Khaki, mixed with Japanese Tank Crew highlight, applied Instant Rust effects across the engine deck/turret top armour/exhausts/areas of high foot traffic, and finally added soot to the 76mm’s Muzzle break and Exhausts.

The Tracks were painted with MiG pigment Track Brown, and then dusted with Rust colour pigments.

It took me awhile, working on and off, but having been someone who always doubted his work, saying “I’d never get that good,” practice does indeed make perfect.

And for those of you who liked the Uniform Segments, I was glad to be of some use! 🙂

Recce doesn’t always safe you.
Neither will having an armour rating of 7+…
